You can play with software and pick up the skill for free. Then book your next vacation to cities with casinos and test your skill. It is a good hobby that may earn you money, not spending your money.

Am I ok to discuss these things publicly on the boards? I'll go ahead anyway, just checking to be sure.

Blackjack at both Wrest Point and Country Club have eroded over the past few years. Wrest Point was especially infamous for being a very profitable mecca for counting blackjack a number of years ago. It hasn't been the case since Andrew Scott's team made their exodus in the mid 90's.

Nowadays theres only a very small opportunity for hand shuffled BJ on Friday and Saturday nights, as they're only open from 8:30pm - 4am. Every other time its CSM only. Theres only a few non-CSM tables open, and given that its the busiest time of the week, its almost always crowded. Which is ok for a bit of backcounting, but it leaves you sticking out like a sore thumb when it gets quieter after 2am and you're using a sizeable spread.

Its the same deal at the Country Club.

Its why I switched to Pontoon myself. No CSMs whatsoever, and theres Pontoon open all day every day. Theres also more Pontoon tables open at busier times too. Country Club only has Pontoon available on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm to 2am, but they have $5 minimums with $200 maximums which can be ridiculously profitable.

Thanks for all of that info Bushie. I was thinking of heading over there sometime to check it out but considering i'm from W.A, the travel distance and with only a couple of shoe bj tables open a couple of times a week with crowded conditions it may not be worth it.
Does the country club only have shoe bj on friday and saturday nights also?
Adding Pontoon to your game sounds like the right way to go. Thanks mate

    Yes unfortunately.

If you live in WA then the Northern Territory is probably your best bet. Darwin's Skycity and Alice Spring's Lasseters are decent from what I've heard. You'd probably have to do some of your own research on that one though.

    Avoid Adelaide like the plague.

If you're able to go a bit further out, Cairn's Reef casino is quite good too. Plus Cairns is a beautiful holiday destination anyway (better than the tundra that is Tassie at this time of the year anyway haha).

Thanks again for that info. I'll check out the conditions at Skycity and Lasseters. I still wouldnt mind getting down to Tassie sometime for a combined holiday as it does sound like a nice scenic place (but may leave it to the summertime haha I have been keeping my eye on the overnight lows over there)

Bad grammar in both your posts. Smells like snake oil to me.

I have heard, recently, that a shoe game will be introduced into the Baccarat (The old "Riviera") room at Crown Perth in the near future.. It will be a $100 min.
