Yesterday I had a max bet situation where I split the maximum 4x and doubled all of them. If I was betting 2% of my BR for my max bets and had 2 hands, I would have had about 1/3 of my BR on the table hinged on that one hand. That's more volatility than I'd like to stomach personally, and would have been much greater than full kelly at the game I was playing. Playing more than full kelly is not advisable.

Controlling losses is more important than anything else for serious players.

I've had those usually wonderful situations. However, your comment does not make, in context, sense. On 2 hands, the equivalent of 16 max bets (2 hands max split, all hands doubled) should not come close to equating to 1/3 of roll.

Of course, the size if bankroll is relavent to the extent that you are playing with different ror's. 5% and less is more like it.

1 time is too often but it happens a little more frequently than that.

I was talking about the op wanting his max bet to be 2% of his BR. 16 max bets of the initial 2% bets is 32% of his bankroll.

I personally usually play with a RoR closer to 1%. My max is about 0.5% of my BR. Some of my sims have 1% of my BR for a max bet being around full Kelly. I think 2% is too much and not good BR management. It is most likely more than full Kelly.

    Agreed. Thanks for clarifying.
