Some prefer the slash and burn strategy while others prefer longevity strategy. They are both effective if done properly. It is just a matter of preference as to which anyone likes better. Many have no patients and wants all the money they can get now. And believe they will be fine with the repercussions. From those I know that took that road I can tell you there were parts of them that had issue with not being able to play certain venues. Just as you see regret from those that took the longevity path but didn't do what was necessary to make that work. One of the things you need to do to make it work is understand you just don't want to play in certain casinos and it has nothing to do with heat. I am glad that you seem to be one of the ones with fewer regrets about the path they took, whichever path that was.
Can we start a new thread Kevin Vs T3? This pissing contest seems to have taken over every thread.

Sorry, that's just what it felt like with this guy throughout the last few threads I've read with him.

But the question that always got me was "what do you plan to do with all that money?" I dunno, i hadnt really thought about it. My "job" was to make money and i viewed money as a tool to make more.

Could i have been wrong? Perhaps. I was told by a mentor that you never understand money until you've made your first million. That's only partially true. Perhaps you dont understand life until you've lost two. Today would've been 32. But here i am still trying to recover the loss which i dont need. While others are enjoying the rewards from which they didnt earn. I guess that makes me the idiot.

But anyway. Pace yourself son. Get your rest. Life is a marathon, not a mile run. You will be fine.

There are Pelicans on the Lake.
That's the question I've been asking others when I train them, "What do you plan to do with the money?". Its one of the most fundamentally important questions I'll ever ask anyone, and the answer can absolutely sway my opinion on whether or not someone is worth investing my knowledge and time in.

When I was younger and much, much greener to being an AP, I just did it to make money, it was as simple as that. I didn't have a goal or an end game, I just knew how to make money, so I did. Once I hit 30, it became more about setting that money aside for the future, for my retirement, via Real Estate and retirement investing.

As far as me winning 10k at one casino, what a stupid remark! Maybe 10k in one hand! As far as winning more then me, its likely I was winning more, playing better games and having a bigger advantages when you were still in diapers. Talking of experience and such, you are just talking out of your ass.

Its not that I have a high opinion of myself, Kevin, its that you are very clearly mistaken with your opinion, and instead of just stating it, you're pushing it off on others. Comments like, "playing better games and having bigger advantages" is so silly, and just goes on to prove my point about your mistaken opinion.

While you're over here milking 1.5% advantage, I'm touring the country scouting for 15-50% advantages on tables, and milking machines for upwards of 4000%. Christ, Kevin, I once played a Video Roulette game with a payback of 94.74% with a 50% kickback in slotplay at $568 dollars per spin to avoid "hand pay" status, and racked up over $300,000 in slotplay profits in less than 10 hours. I showed up in the middle of the northern Midwest at the end of a table games promotion, and with my partner, played two tables and three spots each of blackjack, receiving $21 in FSP per blackjack received, and had to wait an extra day for the casino to be able to write us a check (and catch up on sleep after that marathon).

The EV of your "$10,000" hand was like 150 bucks.

So the next time you way to make a comment like, "Talking of Experience and such, you are just talking out of your ass", you might want to check the mirror first, and your ego at the door. Guys like you are the reason I take frequent hiatus' from this forum. You "hardass" trolls are just too much sometimes.

Better is in the eye of the beerholder. Its taken me a long time to climb up the hill of success, only to find out there's another range atop!

Okay, I am back for round 2!!!
As far as slots and video poker, I can't compete there, you got me. The casinos in Canada don't give away money like some of the stupid casinos in America. Wish they did.
But I know a blowhard when I hear one(ex). When it comes to other people and their edge, you are a simpleton, thinking my edge is $150 on a 10k bet. Keep building yourself up and knocking the rest down.
As far as 3 goes, he loves to argue, sometimes misses the point completely, but is on point most of time.
Slash and burn is used when it is needed, and the choice is clear. It be wonderful to play some games forever, but from what I have seen, it doesn't happen that way. Great games have a short shelf life.

My biggest travel challenge came in Ft Collins, Co. There was a blackout during a tourney and the last game postponed to the next morning. Yours truly, had that game. Problem is, I was scheduled for a 7.30 game that night in Seattle. I went to my friend and said "here, is my problem. Can you help me out?" He laughed and ask, "do you know the difference between good and great?" I said, "not for sure." He said, "making the impossible possible."

I worked both games that day. Made about $5k.
I never realized how hectic that life was, Moses. I guess I never really looked at it that way, that must have been one hell of a rush!

    Stop the presses, Kevin.

If your edge isn't $150 on a $10k bet, what is it then? You haven't professed your ability to hole card, edge sort, ace sequence, keycard, or shuffle track. The only words out of your mouth have been about blackjack, and as far as I'm aware, rarely are you ever gaining more than 1.5% on the house, and though its certainly possible, albeit rare, it wouldn't behoove you to argue against me about the difference of a 1.5% and 2.5% edge, seeing as how they're separated by measly $100. That tells me, Kevin, that you have either very little understanding of the game and its advantage, or you're a blowhard, yourself. Pick one.

Also, I chuckle at the mention of VP and Slots, Kev, that's only the very tip of an AP iceberg, one that most don't ever get the chance to wander into. Most APs will just stick with blackjack, naively thinking its the "best" or most profitable, not realizing that it is indeed the worst, and least profitable (all things considered) of what I do. Its certainly the most readily available, however, which is why I sink a large chunk of my time into it. Suffice it to say, you can't credit me for knowing more about being an AP, and then call me a blowhard, especially so while misunderstanding the very edge you're playing.

Guys we drifted from the purpose of the thread. Let's get back on track. What metric do you use to determine which counting games are most profitable? Thanks.

You're giving his skill, discipline, and true advantage far too much credit. Also, his "burn em down" mantra he's been preaching here, doesn't fit that of one who could accurately shuffle track. You can't be doubly aggressive both counting and tracking, and expect to last very long, the longevity there has to be next to nothing and has to be a -EV approach.

That being said, if he were truly an expert and at the top of his field, I expect the EV of that hand to near $1,300. That is, of course, giving him the credit of someone on the absolute forefront of ST. I think most agreed that an "average" ST would net somewhere between 2.5-4%, so if I had missed Kevin's post about being a Shuffle Tracking professional, I apologize, but his perceived expectation is still minuscule compared to mine on a daily basis, one where I'm in 4-5 casinos, 5 days a week, and 300 days a year.

Kevin, please do us the favor of learning how to quote properly, this broken quote string ordeal is getting quite ridiculous.

Its the same argument there's always ever been.

Slash and Burn vs. Longevity. SCORE vs. Speed+Tolerance.

Its the same, tired debate there always has been.
