    BJ house hidden rule

I was in a DD game, head to head, got 4/6, dealer got a 8 up card. I double down, instead getting a card, the dealer gave himself a card. It was an ace. If the dealer did the dealing correctly, I would have won the hand. But no, the dealer said, he made a mistake, but according to the house rule, it calls a push and re-shuffling. I protested that with the pit boss, he sided with the dealer. Anyone had similar encounter?

You were lucky. Where I play they would bar you for complaining.

A lot of casinos do not allow the cards to be backed up.

Worst rule there is. I've been fried on that one more times than you can imagine. Some if it us incompetence, some if it, I do wonder about.

Once had a critter, on a rare ocassion that the screwup helped me, critter tried to move it back. Should have let her and complained to gaming. As it was, I simply chastised her on the spot, and she dims,y corrected it.

I haven't looked it up to be sure, but I believe or at least have heard (several times) that NV regulations state a card cannot be backed up. So it wouldn't be a casino rule, but a state rule/regulation, at least in NV. But then again, NV doesn't have the most explicit of regulations, at least compared to New Jersey and I'm pretty sure Pennsylvania.

That bites. At my local stores, if it's like one card that's off, they'll either back it up, or allow the missing card(s) to be dealt next if it's too far back, and allow anyone to back out of the hand. I love when this happens and I can benefit from it.

Yes, as it should be when the dealer makes a mistake.

When was the last time you seen a casino charged with cheating the players? The same year that Hillary was charged?

The most common mistake a dealer makes is.....you guessed it, taken your money even though you have won. It is well known, in some places that I would gladly put on blast, they are teaching to cheat for the casino. You would assume dealers wouldn't care if they casino made money right, wrong. There are unspoken incentives for dealers who bring in more money so if you are ever weary if you won a hand and the dealer already pulled your cards and took your money, just simply ask the pitt boss to check the cameras "because you won and the dealer took you money." It doesn't hurt to be wrong, but what hurts is when you simply let the instances go. The margins in this game are small so don't ever let a casino take money that isn't rightfully theirs. There are some casinos where I see this happen so regularly it occurs every shoe. I hate how dealers will act like they are not good or inexperienced in an attempt to be forgiven on errors.
