The pit boss checks the tray

The pit boss checks the table chip tray periodically. I noticed when playing became head to head would prompt this action. The check-tray serves two function, to prevent dealer stolen and to know how much that you won. When you are playing head to head, you really could not hide the money that you took from the house. A good cover measure should be?

There is no cover for heads up conditions.

I think that you answered your own question. If there are chips unaccounted for, only two people could have taken them, you or the dealer. So I'm sure that you know who the pit is going to attribute them to (hint, it's not the dealer).

Agree 100%. Heads-up is where you can make (and Lose) the most in the shortest amount of time, but there is nothing you can do to hide your results. HOWEVER, be on the look out for the instance where someone at the table grabs all of their chips of varying denominations and jets without the dealer/floor knowing exactly what they have. Most/all unaccounted for chips during the session will most likely be assigned to him/her :-)
