We are planning a trip to Tunica Mississippi. Not been there in 15 years can anybody tell me where the best places to play in the area . are these days. I like double deck thanks

All of the casinos in Tunica, MS will deal you no more than 50% of the cards at DD
unless they have concluded that you are a dumb shit-kicker. The sole exception is the
Gold Strike, an MGM store. They use a nice deep notch. BUT they will flat bet you "in
a heartbeat." I played a $25 DD table last year and when I went to $50 I was tapped
upon. Took 15 minutes.
You pretty much have to spread like a shoe (1-12+) and play heads up or one other person at most to play center cut DD, unless it has uncommonly good rules. Run a sim to answer your question though...
There are places that tolerate that on center cut DD because they think they have the game protected simply by the cut, I severely doubt anywhere in Tunica would be among them though.
There's only two places worth playing in Tunica. The store Flash mentioned and the joint directly next door. That's it.
I'm not sure what your stakes are, but you won't last in any of the other joints if you're playing for any "meaningful" amount of money. And once you get backed off at one store, consider yourself done in the entire town, unless you have the ability to drastically change your appearance.
When I play in Tunica, I devote probably 25% of my time at the store Flash mentioned, and the remaining 75% at the place next door. Tread very carefully at the M*L*ife property. They're fairly sweaty.
I should also mention...
If you want to preserve your longevity in Tunica and you happened to get backed off, I would just leave town immediately and make no attempt to play anywhere else. Otherwise, once you open that wound, you'd just be pouring salt in it.
Yes, HS is the store I was referring to. My understanding is that they handle their BOs pretty professionally, unless you continuously antagonize them. Then this will inevitably lead to an 86. Surprising, I've lasted in HS with no BOs so far. They seem to take the action well.
Just returned from Tunica. I play rated at both properties and I disagree with much of this. Over the last 3-4 months, including this weekend (I just returned 2 hours ago), I have visited Tunica about 8 times. I play rated. Perhaps it's because I have established my rep a couple of years ago when I was a newbie and playing basic strategy with HiLo, but they don't seem to question me at either of those places mentioned.
I played only DD. At one store, it's by notch and about 65% pen. The other is often 55% but also dealer dependent and inconsistent. Dealers insert it anywhere between 50-60%. If you are a 6 deck $25 min. Player, there are always tables open. The DD games are a pain in the evenings and weekends because you can start out heads up or with one player and have more join in and you have to leave the table.
If you are playing $25 min. Tables and spreading to a max of $150-$175, with a little masking, you can easily get away on the main floors. Most of my trips (1-2 nights, 6-12 hours of play), I end up between $2500 down or up. Not really winning consistently but the comps are so easy that your meals and room are free.
I think the pit watches but I don't see them taking action with short session players who quit the session up $5-700. If you take a break, alternate pits and shifts, it's not as big a problem as folks report.
On this forum, I see AP's saying games in Las Vegas are hawked too close or at Tunica and other places because they want to discourage more counters going there, sort of keep counters to their local casinos.
Yes, you are correct you will need to spread 1-12 if the penetration is 50% cut off if the rules are DD H17, DAS. But if the casino offers DD S17, DAS games the bet spread would be lower. Unfortunately, in Tunica almost all casinos offer game rules with Double Deck H17, DAS. Some casino in Vicksburg and Biloxi offer Double Deck games with S17, DAS.

Thanks Moses but the variance was not very kind. I lost $4100 the first day, recovered most the next day but not all. For the first time ever, on three successive positive count rounds in. DD game, dealers upcard was a 6 and I lost all three times (2 of those, dealer had an Ace in the hole, hit with a 10) playing two hands. In another positive count, a pair of 7's ended up into four 7's against a dealer 2, lost all four (3 hands of 17 and one of 15) to a dealer 20.
Down over $4k in a couple of hours, was quite pissed, decided that if they backed me off, I don't care and sat at the one SD game, no DAS, 5 rounds head up, 4 to two guys. Playing $25 at start and all negative counts, $75 at RC of plus 1 and $100 for all other positive counts, won back $1k quickly, came to my senses and left before any BO came.
