computer install on the blackjack tables

Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights Missouri has installed sensors on the table. They type in your card and then ask you were you are going to playing. I asked the dealer what is this and why I was told it was to track how many hands you play and what your hands are. I don't like this idea but this my local store so they know . I have a card. Have you seen a lot of other casinos with this software installed lately I was in Vegas and didn't see this last February

Computers are everywhere. However, in MO, they log you into a computer at each table in HL roms. In Tunica, they copy your players card number or other descriptor of you on a pad and then give it to someone sitting at one computer in each pit and they log you in. I believe in Las Vegas too, if you provide a card, they take it to the pit desk, log you in and bring it back to you.

in the end, it's all the same.

    Company Name of sensor?

    Manufacturer of table?

    Regular blackjack table?

Do cards have marking for the sensor to read?

Can you be more precise about this. Type in what card? At the table? Ask if you are going to play?
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

I go to the casino he mentions quite regularly. In the casinos in St. Louis (Hollywood, Ameristar etc). They have a tablet/monitor attached to each table. When a guy with a card sits down, they swipe the card in, put in your buy-in and each time you buy in more, they put the info in. This is primarily in the HL rooms.

So how do you know it is tracking the play of rounds?

Can you see the sensors? Where are they located?

I believe there is some miscommunication. When they ask for a card and someone asks "why", a standard response is "to track your play and how much you are betting" but the pit means for comp purposes. It does not mean as much as the OP is implying.

    Maybe some clarification:

Hollywood has installed card swipers on every table game in the house, including main floor. This gives the dealer the ability to swipe a player's card and input the dollar amount they are buying in for. This is primarily to keep better tabs on buy-ins. If you choose to play unrated, which I've done recently, they will input the amount you are buying in for, but they will not request any further information from you. In my opinion, this has really slowed things down a bit, for now anyway. It seems like everyone is still in the learning stages of this new technology. At the moment, I see no threat ... yet.

I have not asked anyone why they have installed these new swipers. My information is based purely on observation.

Harrah's Philadelphia has started experimenting with these machines. As far as I could tell, the dealer would only input the buy-in and how much the player left with.

You need to clarify what you mean by a sensor. A sensor is not something a dealer or PB will be swiping into, a sensor, the one we all fear at least, would be placed under the table to track RFID's of the chips you're betting, to correlate to an algorithm to determine, silently, whether you match the "counter" template or not. Saying what you just said, as vaguely as you did, probably just spooked everyone, and I don't think you intend to mean what most of us read it as.

This is all over and on every table in Missouri as far as PNG is concerned. Its their way of reducing shift totals, so that there are fewer PBs required, and all of them are basically dual rate dealers who also sit in as "Floor"/PB types. Its nothing more than a simple kiosk where they track player information at the table, and the "suit" walks around his or her whole section updating the information as they go to keep accurate numbers for marketing/comp usage. There are "note" sections, but they are rarely used. Its ultimately for two purposes. To track you dollar in/out and to rate your play on the fly.

Hollywood KC has had this since they opened, and STL since they took over the old Harrahs there. Its basically a "bottom line" move so they can reduce personnel numbers and make the dealers and what few floor personnel they have, work more.
