Maybe 20 years ago. Last time I saw him playing (an easy strategy game), he was going pretty damn slowly. Then again, doesn't surprise me he would rather play absolutely flawlessly than make more $$$/hour with more errors, claiming "giving up 0.01% is way too much".

Many times promotional opportunities are time sensitive. I may want to grab one of a few high payback machines an hour or so before a big point multiplier kicks in knowing the machines may not be available later, then play very slowly until multiplier kicks in.

I am aware. BD wasn't waiting for anything to start -- it was already go time.

I'd put him at a smooth 800-900 without hesitation.

400hph is like, less than 7 decisions per minute. That's god awful slow. I think maybe you're getting HPH with BJ and VP confused or something. He's absolutely a flawless player, that's WHY he's so fast.

This is a very good point.

Then you probably have a weird take on HPH with VP. Bob is smoother than the cream cheese you spread on your bagel, RS. He may not look fast because his arms aren't flailing about making hard tapping sounds, but he's flying through those hands with the least amount of effort possible, the guy is a thoroughbred in VP.

In some of his blogs, its apparent that he can sometimes be very anal about getting that last 0.01%. However, I think successful APs are all a bit anal about "mistake proofing" their games. I know I have to fight the urge for perfection to instead shoot for the optimum. How many extended discussions have you seen here about basic strategy deviations that are worth ten cents a year in EV.

Because I'm not retarded and I've seen him play on more than one occasion. I said 400 HPH because it is so God awful slow. Like it was painful to watch. And no, he wasn't on the phone or just farting around. If you wanna continue to worship him, go ahead. Maybe it's more than 400, I don't know, I wasn't sitting there clocking his HPH. But I'd say 600 tops.

I agree. I've seen people stare at 4TJA suited with another T for what seemed like a good painful minute (9/6 JOB)....or any other close calls....and I'm sitting there thinking, "WTF are you doing? Just make a damn hold and keep going." If you're playing something that is actually good, don't even worry about 0.2%, let alone 0.01%....lol.

lol. I'm sure you were probably thinking that, or worse, the last time you saw me play vp, not that I was playing anything good.

In any video poker, you should make decisions at every stage of the game. This will affect the final result directly. Make sure you have a strategy and follow it. You should be aware that each variety of video poker has special strategies. If you follow them you can achieve the best results. If you are a total noob you may start learning from the most common versions without jokers. They have more simple rules and the tips are also less complicated. You may take a look at Casinoz.club.There are some interesting articles that may help you get started. As for finding a good place to play, you may try Royal Diamonds Video Poker. I like it. It has a nice realistic interface.
