Blackjack Rules in Chile - Where should I play?

    All,

I have 2 options of where I can play BJ in Chile. Both Casinos use 6 desks with shuffling machines and stand on soft 17, but these are the differences in the house rules:

    Casino 1:
    • The Dealer does NOT deal himself a hole card, but rather he gives himself an open face card at the end of the hand after the last player has acted. Therefore if the dealer is showing an A, you have no idea until the end of the hand whether or not he has a BJ
    • Given the point above, if the dealer is showing an A or a T and you decide to double down or split, you DO NOT get back your split or double down bet, you lose the whole thing if he does have a BJ
    • They only allow double down on 9, 10, 11
    • They allow double down after splitting
    • They allow surrender as long as the dealer is not showing an A

    Casino 2:
    • Can double on any 2 cards
    • They DO NOT allow double down after splitting
    • The dealer does deal himself a hole card and checks for a BJ prior to playing out the hand
    • Allow surrender as long as the dealer is not showing an A

Which one of these 2 places offers the better game?

    Thanks,
    Maurice

1st game - 6 decks and you can only double on 9, 10 and 11? Sounds like HORRIBLE RULES.

2nd game - nDAS is the only thing that bugs me but that can be dealt with. Double any two cards is definitely the way to go.

Pick the second place! The other game isnt even worth looking at.

    Both games are pretty crappy.

Assuming these are automated shuffle machines (cards loaded in between shoes) rather than continuous shuffle machines (cards loaded in between rounds), I think casino 2 is a superior option. Not certain though as I haven't specifically looked at the effects of the various no hole card rules. ES10 (surrender as you describe) is a nice rule. Not being able to surrender versus an ace is annoying.

No double after split is bad, but with unrestricted doubles and the dealer peeking I think it works out to be a slightly better option. Again, though, both games are pretty crappy.

In Casino 2, when dealer has A, after peek, if it is not BJ, you can surrender if you want.
Casino 2 is better than 1.

Both places use machines that recirculate the 6 decks nonstop, on and on with no shuffling between shoes....
    Is that a CSM?

That is indeed a CSM. Those games are not countable.

    ^ What frostbyte said.

To calculate pen %, you find the ratio of CARDS DEALT to TOTAL CARDS (or decks_dealt:total_decks).

    For example, a game which deals 5 out of 6 decks would have an 83% pen (5/6 = 0.83333). A game with 4.5 dealt out of 6, would have a 75% pen (4.5/6 = 0.75).
