    Apologies to all

I would just like to say to everyone I am sorry for the way I have been lately. I am dealing with some serious personal issues and I guess I let it spill over into the forum. Anyway I am going to take a break from posting for a while while I deal with things. I am sorry to Don and anyone else that took the brunt of my frustrations. If things check out okay I will be back to posting. Hopefully at that time I will not repeat the venting of my frustrations about things that are out of my control. Just pray for me. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. Since I have been getting a lot of concerned inquiries from various people in off the board inquiries, I will give enough details to satisfy people. This way I don't have to keep explaining things. I haven't even told my wife anything yet. I don't want to worry her if there is nothing wrong. After a routine blood test for my annual physical my GP told me one test indicated I COULD have cancer. She stressed the word could. The test was not designed to indicate cancer but since I am a cancer survivor of a highly aggressive cancer that had me in the highest risk group concerning the cancer's genetics and the size of the tumor she had to mention it. She said some result was far from normal and sometimes that indicates cancer. Anyway I had survived past 99.9% of those in my risk group and I am fast approaching the 10 year point out from treatment (October) where they feel metastasis is very unlikely.

When I was diagnosed 10 years ago metastasis meant you had a month or 2 to live with no effective treatment. My Oncologist is the one that was chosen to take research from around the world and do clinical trials that no other doctor is allowed to do. I have been tracking his progress and the last time I checked, a year ago, his treatment extended life from 2 more months to a little over a year more than without the treatment. The next step in his research shows promise that it might be a cure. I am not sure when those clinical trials are scheduled to start. I think it might be next year but they may be under way already. It sounded amazingly promising. Since this cancer doesn't respond to traditional treatment once it has metastasized they have focused on assisting your bodies own immune system to recognize the unnoticed cancer so it can attack and kill it cell by cell. Anyway the earliest I could see my Oncologist was OCT 5. I have scheduled all the bloodwork, imaging and seeing other specialists so they happen close to seeing my Oncologist so I don't have pieces of the puzzle to trouble me for a long time. Needless to say I have dealt with my mortality a few times in my life so I didn't think it would be an issue. After stepping back and looking at my recent posts it is clear the angst of not knowing and the frustration of the timing coming right when I am approaching the 10 year mark has been putting me on a short fuse taking those emotions out in the forum. I think I can thank Norm for making me realize the time frame correlation to my posts and that I wasn't dealing with it as well as I thought.

Anyway, it could be nothing and more than likely is nothing. But my mind won't be right until I know one way or the other. It is the not knowing that is stressful. If you know you can handle your affairs accordingly. Being uncertain you don't know how to plan your future. Do you plan that your future is less than a year or maybe a month or 2, or do you plan to be here for a long time. You would do things very differently in the differing situations.

Sorry about the length of the post but it is difficult to be brief about these kinds of things.

T3 post number 4 brings up a good point for all. I had some surgery a couplle of years ago. Was told to get my affairs in order etc. Went throu a 3 month stretch encompassing a large loss - till I had the surgery Shit cards happen, and I was never makeing money with those cards. What I've never been able to measure was the effect of state of mind on those losses.

Moral - when something big is on your mind - don't play.

T3, hope your news is positive.

What can be said... other than sending you my best wishes and positive energy. I also believe you will go through it and live to tell the story again.

I am glad the other results are negative and I hope the Bx is too. I really enjoy reading your posts T3. Your perspective and insights are nice to hear. You're one of the people on here for who I have a lot of respect. I think many people are just used to microwave ovens and want things yesterday, they don't want to read a long post. Sometimes the best things take time though, like a good Italian red sauce. I hope you do continue to post some. Best wishes to you T3.

I hope things go your way Tthree. I know this much, you are a very generous man, helping out many players improve their game. I bet your private life is more of the same helping others. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am not trying to hijack this thread. However, the theme strikes close to home.

I am a full generation older than Tthree (and Tarzan too) but ... as I am keyboarding
this ~ where I have been for days ~ flat on my back. I am sick and I am seeing a wide
array of physicians, each a board-certified specialist in their field. That is so, simply
because I have a wide variety of symptoms without a solid working diagnosis / prognosis.

I may have to cancel my midwestern sortie this week as I may be back in the hospital.

"What is wrong?" you ask. Well, the shorthand response is that my lungs are functioning
well; but nothing else is. Heart, Liver, Kidneys, and Pancreas are all functioning poorly.
My spleen may be alright. My organs are riddled with cysts, including my adrenal glands.
i think that cancer, while not 100% out of the picture, is not likely. Multiple Organ Failure ?

These problems all seem to stem from last October, almost precisely a year ago to the day,
when I suffered from having eaten a tiny mushroom - "The Death Cap" - amanita philloides.

At the time, my research indicated that death via multiple organ failure "one year out" is a
commonplace sequel. LOL In a matter of hrs. it will be precisely one year that has elapsed.

Ironically, this week I have received communications from others suggesting that my obsessive
posts need to be curbed, as they have become repetitive, with my becoming a "crashing boor."

Whatever the case may be, my mortality has sharpened my focus. Friends have urged me to
"soldier on." Monday I have an appointment with my gastroenterologist' office; not that a Nurse
Practitioner will have the depth and breadth of clinical knowledge to properly assess my condition.

I have a "to-go bag" packed for the hospital.
