As an afterthought I must say that on occasion I am guilty of P.U.I.
"Posting under the influence." After all, I can LEGALLY consume my
medically prescribed cannabis products ad lib. Perhaps my attempts
to titrate my dosage levels. Can you say "Accidentally on purpose." ?

    Drum roll please Maestro ...

    Ta' Da' ...

    Here are the actual answers:

Dr. Griffin had guessed an advantage of about 20%

The optimal plays result in an advantage of
    32.1%

    and it is
    35.8% with Surrender.

Most striking to me ~ is the Basic Strategist’s play

results in an advantage of less than
    6%

So … weird shit happens sometimes.

I think that Dr. Griffin missed a proverbial golden

opportunity as he should have run what amounts to

the "opposite” configuration ~~ with deficit Faces and

surplus Baby Cards and the same ratio of middle cards.

The notion of how far off our computations can be at times

reminds me how, long ago, I studied, Backgammon benchmark

figures of positions generated via computer simulations.

All credit to Kit Woolsey for that brilliant, now rare, publication.

Studying that transformed me to a rating that equates with being

a low expert player ... but I digress.

An interesting factoid is that Dr. G. had stated that at 71%
Face Cards the point of diminishing returns (of e.v.) is found.

This rare deck configuration flies in the face of that, one would
think, but rarity spawns bizarre results, as everything that we
depend upon in blackjack is based upon average index values,
average representations of True Counts, etc. etc.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
