Looks like it isn't getting better:

    Utterly amazing !

    Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot ?
In the context of "improvement" Wynn
had the unmitigated audacity to state:

"We changed the amount of free odds that we gave at dice games from what was commonly referred to as the three-four-five game. And that had to do with the amount of free odds you'd get if you made line bet to double odds."

    This is a horrendous move.
I do shoot craps, but not on the strip
where anemic 3-4-5 X Odds are offered.
I limit my play to 10X at the very minimum.
20X and 25X as offered in much of the country
is my preference. Many casinos, (e.g. most or
    all Horseshoe
    ® Casinos) offer 100X odds.
Playing with 2X odds, instead of high odds, is
analogous to choosing to play BJ ~ 8 decks,
H17, NDAS, d11, with 50% pen' when the adjacent
    BJ tables offer ...

CNBC reported yesterday that Steve Wynn said they currently changed the odds of most games in his casino chain to increase house advantage, so he expects next quarter's earnings will increase.

Casinos never learn that increasing house edge just makes gamblers lose faster, not lose more. And they can choose not to play at his casinos at all. Mr. Wynn will be sorry that his optimistic prediction will not come true in the next quarter.

It seems the evolution continues. Most folks or friends I know who go to Wynn or Encore are NOT AP's or going for gambling. They are going for the "creature comforts" and the environment. They can also afford it. True "players" probably don't frequent his places. Just more proof the Strip is going AWAY from gambling as their prime resource of revenue and entertainment options.

Oh well...............the 'bad' beat goes on.

It seems you missed the posters point. Most gamblers will lose their whole gambling budget and no more. Raising the HE will not get 1 extra penny out of these types. But it may make them decide their money isn't lasting as long as it used to and not to play at your casino anymore. Basically no upside to raising the HE and only a downside.

Yet, you read about (casino management) whining that gaming is down. First it was the economy, then Macau, too few casinos, then too many casinos, and finally it's the millennials. They just never look into the mirror.

You ain't gonna win at Wynn? Hahaha We are right back to this mentality of "I'm not making enough money (to scratch out my 2 million bonus for this quarter) and I'm not bringing in any new customers. I know! I'll gouge out the rules a little bit to get more money out of the existing customer base, cleaning them out that much faster! They will know to STFU and bring more money next time! It's not like they'll become disgruntled and seek other places where their money stretches farther or this brilliant maneuver will cause me to lose more of what's left of my existing customer base!" Stevie boy, go ask Trump Plaza how that worked out for them with this tactic employed to combat the losses from PA casinos opening up... Cleaning out the existing customer base that much faster does not make you any more money, it merely cleans out the customers that much faster, risking further losses in your customer base when they figure out you're there to fuck 'em for all it's worth as fast as you can and there are other places in which they will fare much better on their gambling buck. Even the dumbest of gamblers might figure out that it's stacked up against them more in one place than another.

Apparently Moses' friends can afford it so they will bring more next time. They must be Old Money because New Money usually has money because they wouldn't come back in a situation like this. They have money because they looked after their money by not wasting it. Children of Old Money never worked for anything and will blow their money fast.

Of course the environment is changing but tourism is increasing. Almost 43 million expected this year; and an increase from record visitation in 2015. Is it because John Q Public is SO ignorant about gaming/gambling that they can continue to make things worse for "players"?

They are billionaires for a reason MJ. Wynn is tightening up the screws to the ship. The players get the plank.

The new age players are dumber than the bosses - they continue to play washed out games and drunkenly stumble to their rooms afterwards.

We know what they are doing to the games. The dummies don't, and they don't care either. They are getting what they deserve. The casinos will get their just deserts, in time.
