I have taken advantage of the "comped" cruise for the past 5 years. I don't play high enough to get the port charges, and taxes taken care of. I have no idea what level one has to play to get the offer. I can tell you I don't play 50-100 for 4hrs at a time for 3 days. I do play often. I am averaging 9 days a month in LV this year. I am lucky enough to not have to worry about airfare. I have never seen a playable game on a cruise. I have probably spent less than $200 total on ship casinos. Just a few rolls on a craps table once. I use the cruise to take a break. Every cruise I have been on from a casino offer has had free drinks in the casino. You don't have to be playing to get them.

Harrah's sends free cruises several times a year to good players. Earn 7,500 to 10,000 RC's in a single gaming day at Caesars and your mailbox will fill up with offers. Stations Chairman members get two free cruises a year (one each 6 months). I also got cruises when I was a President member. I also got a free cruise from Silver Sevens. (of all places). Just keep in mind, free isn't free, they comp you the cabin but you're still on the hook for gratuities and port fees and those wind up totaling around $350 per person (depending on the cruise and how many days it is).

I've never been directly comped a cruise from the cruise line but I have several friends who have. The got away with counting cards for a trip or two then it always winds up being bad. (Comp revoked, chips not cashed, etc). The best way to get comps from the cruise line, I'd guess, is to get them to call a casino where you have a strong profile and get a reference. Alternatively you could book through an independent host.

Generally correct but you'd be surprised what you occasionally find. I found 16/10 NSU Deuces on the Carnival Conquest on a trip. (99.73% payback). I found 3/2 Electronic Blackjack on another cruise ship. I'd be sure to walk through the entire casino and check the paytables of all of the games. You might also find some UX type scavanging opportunities and for those the paytable is irrelevant.

From my experience using Caesars Total Rewards (other rewards programs with be different):
    1. You need to get to Aspiration Level 1 of Diamond Level or above to get the Cruise offers.
    2. Aspiration Level 1 requires obtaining 40,000 Tier Credits (TC).

To give you an idea of the amount of play required to get 40,000 Tier Credits, I could get close to 1000 Tier Credits a session by having an average bet between $50-75 per hand playing for about 6-8 hrs. You do get Tier Credit Bonuses based on how many Tier Credits you earn in a single day of play (see table below) which can help you obtain 40,000 TC quicker. I have on several occasions earned 5,000 TC and got the 10,000 TC bonus. It takes an average bet of about $200 per hand or more playing 6+ hrs. Make sure they are logging your ave. bet correctly. Ask the floor person what they have you at for an average bet. If it seems low and they haven't been paying much attention to your table, politely tell them you had been betting a lot more and sometimes they will bump up your average bet. The floor people know me well locally will bump up my average without me even saying anything. The nice ones anyway.

    Earn (in 1 day) Receive
500 Tier Credits 125 Tier Credits
1,000 Tier Credits 1,000 Tier Credits
2,500 Tier Credits 5,000 Tier Credits
5,000 Tier Credits 10,000 Tier Credits

I suggest you research the rewards program you will be using to gain the most points you can while putting the fewest amount of money in action. For the most part Rewards Programs are terrible. What you receive in "Rewards" is so small compared to the amount of action you have to give. Don't chase after Rewards Points for offers. Gamble as you normally would and take whatever you can get in return.

You are so right. People get caught up chasing peanuts and it cost them more if they would of just paid for it outright.

I have been a platinum player for quite awhile. During that time I have taken advantage of 3 cruises thru ce. This past year I got diamond. Not aspiration level 1. Plain diamond. Reached 15000 points and quit. Just booked my 4th cruise last week thru ce. I use ce for rooms and shows. I play elsewhere in LV. Again, I don't know what level it takes to get cruises. I do know how much play I give ce. It isn't close to what some of the posters are claiming.

Peanuts are actually legumes, not nuts. ~ Interim Resident Expert on Everything (Pending Tthree's Reinstatement).
