    Comps and Win/Loss Tracking

    Hello All,

Im curious, in your log data, do you include comps in your win/loss record?

For instance, I have one casino that sends me a monthly flyer. Promotions in the flyer include things like: free rooms, cash coupons that I can go directly to the cashiers cage and be reimbursed and just pocket, credit put on my players card that can be used to purchase casino stuff or in the restaurant, etc.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Grind On,
    FerrisB

i only count tips i give in my log....since i NEVER play rated, i do not get any comps, but those should not be part of a BJ log

side bets are the only thing that mucks up my log

I track tips when I am in a session and always make sure to pay back the bankroll out of my pocket, but do not keep records. I guess that I avg maybe $1 an hour in Vegas - definitely not $2 an hour, server included. I'm getting all of that and some in free energy drinks.

I do have a comp log of:
food (never would have tried wagyu without comps!)
    free/resort fee only hotel stays
slot play/promo chips and the amount of cash it turned into

I've been slacking lately. Easy for me to put it off since it is not that important, more so just something interesting to look back on.

I have a separate column for comps... and I include all "comps" in to this whether it be free/match play, food, rooms, etc. These are the "extras" that I consider are outside of the main game. Thus, I know where I'm standing EV/BR wise, but I also have a side tally for the total amount of comps (and yes I have the ability to break them down by category as listed above).

I play rated and count cash comps (where I get cash at cashiers window). If it's a winning session, then the cash gets added to the total and if it's a losing session, then it's a bit less of a loss after the cash comp. the Free play coupon I just play without counting it. Thus, if I give the dealer $300, it's what I note down an not the free play coupon.

different folks have different reasons for their log. Some want a pure one where they can determine whether their counting results are what they want and others who just want to know whether their casino experience is positive regardless of what they play.

you are generalizing. For those of us who are not full time pros, who have only 1-3 casinos they frequent weekly, it's much more advantageous to play rated. For one, you get less heat, for another if all players are rated players, the table gets far less scrutiny. You also get comped for a meal every time you go there and play (that's $10-$15 each visit). You get free play table coupons worth anywhere from $10 to $150.

if you happened to be a full time employed in local area player, you can get away with wider spreads than the unrated player. They know you are not trying to make a living off of them.

If if you are a regular, they are rating you whether you show them ID or not, so rated makes sense.

I play rated in my area and get free rooms in Las Vegas at the MGM properties so when. I go there, I stay free and play polite spreads at MGM properties and go play unrated elsewhere in Las Vegas.
