    CV Blackjack Indexes?!!! or Book Indexes?!!!

    I have noticed when playing on Casino Veritee! that they use slightlyy different numbers than in Standford Wongs Pro Blackjack book! Which ones shall I use? The one on Casino Verite! or in the Wongs Book!!?

    CV uses the indices in Stanford's books. However, Stanford made a large change to the negative indices in '94 and has made other minor changes from time to time in new printings.

    I don't buy every printing. I don't think I've changed a Wong index in the last decade or so. Oddly, I think the AOII numbers are in advance of the book. Bryce would make occasional changes in new printings and e-mail them to me. The last one he e-mailed was before the next printing, and I don't think they bothered to make the change.

    NORM! You are wrong. On the software! Some numbers are off by 1! I'm looking at the tables pg 46 table 9 and pg 48 table 10 OF professional Blackjack.The numbers in CV are slight ly different than on pg 46-48!!

    For example! No indexes for late surrender 17vA in book, but Casino veritte says to surrender. I think Verite is correct on 17vA though for H17 as I believe that's the correct play! Why does PBJ not have surrender index for 17vA??!

    I never play H17 but if memory serves 17vA is a BS surrender.

    WO ng does not have an index for surrender in his Book!. Does that mean just follow basic strategy and surrender!?

    Yes, indices are departures from BS. If there is no index you use BS.

    The index is a reverse one. You surrender if the TC is < +2. So, yes, that is BS, but no, that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be an index for the play.

    As I said, the indices come from the book. But, the indices in the book vary by edition. In particular, he changed all the negative indices by 1 in 1994.
