    Las Vegas Blackjack

    Hi,

I've been working with the Casino Verite software for over 2 years but, have only been able to get to Vegas a couple of times (family illness) to try it out. It appears as though I'll have to play at the smaller places (Gold Coast, Strat, etc) with 3/2 & H17 because I can't play with a $10 (at least) minimum. Can anyone recommend lower limit locations in Vegas for live practice?

    Thank you.

    gn

If you purchase a copy of CBJN (at BJ21.com), it'll give you list of all the games available in Vegas, as well as the rest of the US and Canada. One copy runs $17, or you can purchase quarterly or annually for a discounted rate.

At the top of my head though, you'll find good 3:2 games at many of the local casinos outside of the strip and downtown. If you're looking for something close to the strip, I know Hooters has low stakes 3:2 games (as low as $5 minimums).

Thanks for BJ21 info. I will check it out. I don't have an issue paying for good current info. Some sites seem to have dated info - $5 min at Caesar's, MGM, NYNY? I don't think I've seen that in many years even on a weekday. I'm trying to find: 6decks, S17, 3/2, $5 min (if possible? perhaps during the week?)

And having been there recently to try their "world infamous" wings..........you will also find that it's damn near impossible to get a seat at the low limit games. It seemed like they tried to have TOO many players around a table to "add" to the wild atmosphere. For true BJ playing............wouldn't be much fun.

This is almost a unicorn in Vegas, especially on the strip. You "MAY" and I stress MAY be able to find on weekdays; your best bet is definitely OFF strip properties or farther south properties. Vegas is NOT what it used to be any longer as far as low limit BJ games are concerned.

Agree on both points! Had their wings not too long ago. They were pretty good! As far as their BJ goes, Hooters is pretty good for the low stakes player, looking to gain some actual live-play experience. I can tell you though that even though this property is very close to the strip, this is DEFINITELY a low-roller joint! They called "checks play" on my first $100 bet and when I went to cash out $900 in chips at the cage, they had to call the pit to verify. This place doesn't see big action ever I don't think. I also noticed that this was one of the only properties that actually had a 3:2 single deck game btw, with a $10 min I believe. I'm sure any meaningful spread wouldn't be tolerated though. I didn't even attempt to go near that game. I stuck to 6D there.

As far as finding 6D, S17, 3:2, $5 min... Good luck finding that anywhere near the strip. The closest to that would probably be Hooters, but H17 would be substituted for S17. On the strip; substitute 8D for 6D, H17 for S17, and $15 min for $5 min. If you want $5 min, then substitute 6:5 for 3:2 lol. Best bet for anything close to that is definitely local joints, as MJGolf said.

$5 table now is like $1 table in 90's.

"Locals Joints" (especially out on the Boulder Highway) will provide
you with pretty good $5 games weekdays from 1:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Thanks. I'll be there in May and July, for now. Guess I'll be sleeping in all day. Will try to make most of the trips mid-week for the next year or so.

Those venues offer very little variation in rules and penetration.

If you order a copy of CBJN (Current Blackjack News) from BJ21.com, it'll give you information on all blackjack games in the US and Canada. If I remember correcty, it's $17 for one issue or you can get it at discounted price if you purchase it quarterly or annually. An updated issue is released on the 3rd or 4th of every month, as blackjack table conditions continuously change frequently.
