I was thinknig... Why not just play exactly as the dealer does/has to???

To create a perfectly even game!!!??? Or even better for us as players since we get paid a BJ a 150% and the dealer does not!!!?

So why not do exactly the same as the dealer has to do in every hand: Hitting until (soft) 17 or more.

Wouldn't this just make for an even game or better (considering we get paid a BJ 150%)????

Or is this really a stupid assumption and if so, why?

    VERY stupid
-- so much so that it ADDS roughly 5.0% to the House Advantage -
over whatever the regular House Edge is ~ generally between 0.2% and 0.7%

This is because the house advantage is a result of your having to play your hand
before the dealer, when you "bust" the dealer wins automatically, even with a "stiff."

    Or the dealer also busts.

If the player "busts" the dealer has no draw, thus his "stiff" wins.
If there are others at the table, the dealer may draw and bust, but
the hand of the player is lost. This is the dread "Double Bust Factor"

Well, it seems to me that a polite person would let the dealer play first.

According to the Wizard of Odds the mimic the dealer strategy has a 5.48% house edge. You're much better off buying a basic strategy card at the gift shop than doing this. http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/basics/

Actually I have a better idea...........why not just double your bet every time you lose 'playing just like the dealer'. Eventually you will win your original bet back!!!! What a concept. How come no one EVER thought of that before?
