    Session length when not counting

The conventional wisdom is to keep playing sessions short when counting cards. What about other types of AP? Do you leave after a certain win/loss, play until the floor starts paying attention, keep your sessions short, or something else? I think I err on the side of caution and make my playing sessions shorter than they need to be.

There are a few good reasons for leaving a session.

Winning too much is certainly to be avoided.

"HEAT", fatigue, physical discomfort, sleepiness, etc. are good reasons.

How do you know when you are approaching the point of having won too much? I know this varies from casino to casino and can involve CTR considerations. Are there any rules of thumb for Las Vegas casinos or chains? Feel free to PM if this is sensitive.

You can't get a CTR for winning at table games unless you cash in the chips.

Why would you? The C stands for currency. Chips are not currency. I've won $10k in a single hand with no paperwork and no ID given. I was paid in chips and no one even asked my name.

Edit: Losing too much can be a CTR issue if you don't bring enough chips with you to the game.

Other than CTR I keep my sessions to 4 shoes or an hour max. I've found just like playing poker the mental mistakes begin to creep in.

    Structuring is a non issue.

Sure, If you won 125k in a session and tried to cash out 9k a day for two weeks to the same cashier, yes, maybe you will have a risk of getting in trouble for structuring.

Otherwise, for people who play limits where this won't happen.... Ratholing, and common sense, should be enough to avoid issues.

Most higher stakes players keep a lot of chips on hand to avoid a 10k buy in as NYNE said. Buying in is more likely to get you a CTR than cashing out is, if you are smart.

I almost never go straight to the cashier. Especially if I just had a big win. If you do. It's probably not a good idea in most instances.

Structuring is a violation of federal law. Suggestions that people should violate laws are not allowed on this forum.
