    facial recognition software

A few years ago, facial recognition software was still in early stages in casinos and not very accurate. I wonder if things have changed a lot.

Is it pretty common for casinos to have this now, and is it accurate?
If you get backed off at one place, could a sister property or even an unrelated place identify you with just computers?
Or is it always surveillance operators that would identify you?
Could a hat or glasses easily foil the technology?
Will it likely become a much bigger threat in the future?

This was a big topic of discussion on BJ21 several months ago; I believe the general consensus was that the technology still isn't very effective today. As you said, simply wearing a hat or glasses will make it fairly difficult for FRS to do what it's designed to do.

Unless there is a convention of hat wearers in town, I wouldn't. I would think anti-FRS glasses would also be a mistake as they would be obvious to a modern system. And, I think reflective or sunglasses make you look suspicious. Non-optic glasses would help in older systems, but the technology keeps expanding. I could certainly be wrong here. FRS systems use facial metrics. It will eventually be very hard to beat that without making yourself obvious. Of course, newer tech is expensive, and most casinos are not that quick to adapt.

Just my opinion, but I think standard methods of cover are still OK today.
