Angry CVBJ ver 5.5 on Windows 10

    Wondering if anyone can offer suggestions for this problem;

I have CVBJ ver 5.5 installed on my computer, it worked fine until I upgraded my OS to Windows 10. Now, none of the links work. If I re-install CVBJ would I lose all the data I've built up over the past few months?

Has anyone else seen this problem?

What do you mean by links? You can install the free update to V5.6 at: https://www.qfit.com/downloads.htm#free.Reinstalls and updates do not affect data.

By Links I mean URLs: When you first load the software, a window comes up with four choices; Games, Drills, Reference Library and Software. In the reference Library I should be able to get your book Modern Blackjack by clicking the word "link" that is next to the paragraph. there are several other "links" in the library; along with a URL to go to Black Jack forum. None of the URLs work since I downloaded Windows 10. Downloading the updates above did nothing to fix my problem.

I know I have a corrupted file I was able to run a troubleshooting utility and it came back "File XYZ is missing or corrupted" I left clicked the mouse when I was over the word link to get it to run, now I can't get it to do anything.

Just had a thought: I may have a virus; let me run a virus scan and see what comes up.

    I'll respond back tomorrow.

    Thanks,
    PokerProf

    Happens with some anti-virus software.

    www.qfit.com/Update56191.msi :

I did download this; and the URLs in reference library worked. I used the Games part last night and part of today. Tonight I went to Drills and none of them worked. I went to counting drills and the template would come up but the window where the cards are shown was blank, the timer started but no cards were shown. I tried Table drills, and flash card drills; none of them worked. I used the repair files on the CD but nothing happened.

Between last night and today I had to download some files from the HP Print Center to try and get my printer to work. I don't know how that would screw up the Drills portion of CVBJ. I thought about removing the whole program and re-installing?

Windows 10 does weird things. I bought a new laptop last year that had Windows 8 on it. It ran fine. Then I upgraded to the free Windows 10 offer. Every once in a while my screen will start flickering rapidly. I found a way to stop it by clicking on my calculator icon. I ran scans, tried removing and reinstalling programs, checked Microsoft web sites and everything I could think of to stop it. I have had no luck so far.

I just bought a new desktop and I refuse to install Windows 10 on it. Every time Microsoft comes out with a new Windows version, it is full of bugs.

I hope you can find your problem Pokerprof.

I've never heard of a fee for a video driver.

I probably got took, but I didn't know how else to update drivers.

I don't suppose there is any way of removing 10 and going back 7 without having to format the drive?

I thought maybe, when I installed my printer software somehow I messed up CVBJ so I uninstalled my printer software, then I uninstalled CVBJ. During the un-installation I got an error message "file msinet.ocx or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered a file is missing or invalid". When I reinstalled it everything seems to work except I don't get Cassie. I know that's just a switch somewhere.

I'll try reinstalling my printer software and see what happens.

Thanks for your help; just put it on my tab
