Has any1 tried to beat online live dealer BJ using a computer?

OK, I've heard penetration sucks (50% or so) but as you are playing online you can use the full power of a computer so you would be playing knowing exactly how many of each cards are there in the remaining shoe. I'm not saying it would be profitable even if it can be done, due to the low speed of the game but I'm just wondering if it would be achievable.

Yeah, you can try to use a computer and get maybe a couple percent advantage, sometimes. They're still 8D as well, and with the 50% PEN you can know more information, but still not enough to change the house edge.

The bigger problem with the 50% PEN is that it requires your spread to be unsustainably high in order to make a profit... like 1-50 spread. If you're even doing $10-$500 you'd need about $100k to withstand 'most' of the swings. This is a fairly educated guess of the top of my head... and to get any kind of decent hourly you'd want to be spreading like $25-$1000, or more, which would require bankrolls that few (if any) on this board could actually obtain. Simply put, most online games can't be beat because of the variance they offer with their crappy penetration. They drive half the counters away because of bankroll and RoR considerations.

edit - Oh, and if you did all that... They're an online casino with T's and C's that say "We can take your money and ban you."

Two problems. 1. They are slow beyond belief. 2. The agreements state that you will forfeit your deposit if you use a computer.

It would be nice if anyone could flesh this out in more detail. I have thought about the online LIVE play BUT you have some issues. So anyone who has done so, would appreciate their input. I agree with Norm, they are slow. As to forfeiting deposit, I don't see how this is particularly an issue as how would they be able to ascertain you were using a computer at a different screen or even different computer. Ethics aside.

BUT most of these places are overseas and "technically" you can't use a credit card for deposit under U.S. regs.........or they specifically state U.S. citizens not allowed. And while I have tried to watch and see play at some....through viewing or on the various YouTube postings, they don't appear to all have the same "conditions". None seem that good (50% penetration at most). Some shuffle in front of you; some shuffle behind the scenes and bring the new shoes in. Seen mistakes made in card readers, dealers, etc. And they don't seem to resolve them in player's favor for sure.

Another issue is return of money? Has anyone had a problem getting their money out?

IF ANYONE here has played them to any extent, I would be interested in what you have found out or experienced.

I tried one of the early ones. Nearly died of boredom. I've never had trouble withdrawing funds. But, it is possible to see if you are using a computer. Several days back, we were under a DDoS attack, and I turned on the protection that determines if you're a bot.

I never did the live dealer thing but I can say a bit about the return of money question. Before the UIGEA, I got into bonus whoring for a few years. I played probably 40 - 50 sites and always got my money after clearing T&C. However, a few times it was like pulling teeth and I always researched the site before depositing as some of them were very shady. I was unable to deposit to a few sites after they determined I wasn't a good customer. Please remember, this was before 2006 so it may be different, but even then, the trend was worse bonuses and more scrutiny.

ahhhhh.....I guess it's a difference of interpretation. I was thinking 'computer' to make sure your strategy and index plays were perfect.............not as in "computer" as a bot playing perfectly. Sorry. I guess because I get so much pleasure out of playing and making the decision in the present sense...........help or not. Not any enjoyment in letting a bot play..........LOL

And sorry about DDoS attacks. Saw that in another thread. I know you have to be quite vigilant in this day and age. Thanks for all you do............

IMO it can definitely be done but not worthwhile because there is too much easy money elsewhere. Winnings being seized are too common in online casinos so you're better off investing your time in sticking to the terms and conditions.
