The tornados missed us by 20 miles moses. Thanks
We are starting a new tradition this year. We are going to open presents by the pool. It was a sunny 76 here yesterday but cracking thunder storms all last night. In 1962 it was -13 on the 23rd.

Freightman, that reminds me of a story.
It very seldom snows here. Usually we get ice that brings down power lines, trees and makes for terrible driving conditions so I always look forward for a pretty snow.
Once two other couples went out to eat with my wife and I. As we were sitting in the restaurant I mentioned that they were forecasting a 6 inch snow about 100 miles north of us. I suggested when we finished eating we all pile into a car and head north until we hit snow. As you might imagine, everyone looked at me like I had lost my mind and mentioned no change of clothes, tooth brushes etc. I said Walmart has everything we need so we all piled into the car and headed north.
Not too far north, we hit the snow and the flakes were coming down as big as silver dollars. It was one of the most beautiful snows I have ever seen. We stopped at a Walmart and a liquor store, got supplies and spent the rest of the weekend playing games, walking around and just enjoying the beautiful scenery and the 6-8 inch snow.
Now they all warn newcomers not to go out with me because you never know where you'll wind up. We all had a blast.

I was doing deep-sea fishing in the infamous "Bermuda Triangle"
without a single cloud or more than a very slight breeze; with no
warnings, as so to speak, We were instantly swept up like a very fast
elevator and crashed down to the surface all within a matter of seconds.
I was seated in a Captain's Chair - belted in - with a huge Rod and Reel
bolted in - to wrestle those amazing half ton fish ! When the boat (twin 100
horsepower Mercury In-Board powered) the metal post upon which I was
perched cracked like a toothpick. We were all bruised but we survived as
did our vessel.
The sky went from Florida midday bright to almost complete blackness,
and it would be completely accurate to use the analogue "light switch"
to describe this.
and there was a deafening howling roar like a freight train. I was with
three other sober individuals. Our accounts of what had happened matched.
After years of speculating I concluded that SOMEHOW we had experienced a
"water spout". BUT from beneath the Atlantic Ocean ! Doh' !
Things can happen very fast. Once I was coming from Hong Kong and the pilot turned on the buckle seat belt sign. I buckled up and all of a sudden the plane seemed to rise just a bit and immediately the bottom dropped out from under it. I don't know how far we dropped but everything on the plane that wasn't tied down was stuck on the ceiling. That included people who landed about 2 seats behind where they were seated. From that time on, I never remove my seat belt when I'm on a plane.

I am close to getting done with snow. Spent a few years in Michigan and a few more in upstate New York. I now live in MO and my town gets about 10 inches of snow a year, no more than 2-3 inches at ne time and it melts away quickly. I am exploring moving to Florida in a few months because I will be very happy if I never wore a winter coat ever again.
Now, if Florida gets more casinos soon, life would be easier!!
