Why does the playing indices in Casino Verite and CVData only goes up to A9?

I notice the soft double down strategy only up to A9 in Casino Verite and Index Generation in CVdata. If say you split 10,10 vs 5 and 6. The true count is +13 and you received 10,A and want to double down then you are force to stand in Casino Verite.

Would it be valuable to have indices for A,10?

It's utility would be to identify you as a savvy player. I thought that should be axiomatic.

Let's say you have a 90% chance of winning and 10% chance of pushing. With a $100 wager, your EV is $90. So, the EV for doubling would have to exceed $90 in order for doubling to be superior to standing.

According to this: http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackj...nd-calculator/ it looks like doubling A,T has a value of 53% EV [$53 for $100 wager]. That's pretty far away from the required 90% in EV.

It seem like the Blackjack hand calculator is for basic strategy play since you can't input indices there.

The index would be Ev maximizing to decide if it got you more money. The question is how much more money would need to be added to EV to make your ride go from a can't lose play to a play were you are likely to lose double. The effect on the ride or swings is huge on this play. Increasing swings has a side effect of increasing RoR. If you have a really huge BR the increased RoR is not a big deal but if you play like most mortals on a BR that is not ridiculously excessive the increase RoR due to the swings will cause your optimal bet on every hand to drop slightly.

Basically you have an optimal EV play and an optimal BR growth play. The closer you are to the BR growth stage of your AP career the more you want to lean toward optimal BR growth for these types of decisions. Now that is the math. The heat factor is another aspect of this play. You have RA indices and then you also have heat averse indices. Make sure the gain in EV is worth the added heat before you make a play at any store you are planning on returning to play again.

I think I gave enough info for you to know the answer but the answer is the same as the answer to many debated issues about AP BJ. It depends on your situation.
