msinet.ocx is a Microsoft module. Either it was deleted, corrupted, or a module it depends on has been deleted or corrupted. First, try to uninstall and reinstall CV. This should repair the module. BUT, you MUST restart Windows before doing this as the error locks the file and doesn't allow it to be fixed. And, you must use the Windows uninstall procedure.

You can also try to re-register it as follows:

    1. Reboot (this is important)
    2. Make sure NOTHING is running
    3. Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and type R. A RUN box should appear.
    4. Type REGSVR32.EXE c:\windows\syswow64\msinet.ocx /u
    5. Hit OK
    6. Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and type R.
    7. Type REGSVR32.EXE c:\windows\syswow64\msinet.ocx
    8. Hit OK

If that doesn't work, you'll need to search the system to see if there are multiple copies. E-mail me if you get to this point.

Thanks -- the unregistering and registering worked

I know you get tired of hearing this -- but your systems and service are the greatest

For anyone having this issue in the future I had to run the step 7 command "REGSVR32.EXE c:\windows\syswow64\msinet.ocx" in a command prompt that was run as administrator. It failed if run as a normal user.
