Or.... you can put your own spin on the numbers to suit whatever point you wish to make.
Your totally missing the point. Where do you think whales come from? They have to be cultivated and groomed. Most of the low level card counters you are referring to are going to bust out anyways. The ploppies that would normally grow into whales, are going to get pissed off by losing their money at twice the rate they would normally do so at. So, a game that would normally have a .5% HE, is going to be 1.5 for a ploppy, and, adding 6-5 into the mix, you can now add another point into the equation. Pretty shitty scenario that keeps ploppies from sinking their teeth into the game.

Typical bean counter philosophy - sacrificing long term viability for short term gain. They'll eventually figure out that they've kicked themselves in the ass.

Actually gambling revenue has increased. It apparently only decreased as a % of total revenue. That means entertainment revenue has increased greatly.

The above figures are from UNLV Gaming Research.
Play within your bankroll, pick your games with care and learn everything you can about the game. The winning will come. It has to. It's in the cards. -- Bryce Carlson

Definately not a "young newbie." My post was a sarcastic reply making a jab at the fact that graphs and many statistics can often be interpreted to suit nearly any point of view. Hence the notion that there is any army of low stake card counters that are putting the screws to the entire gaming community with max bets of $100.00

    - Sun Tzu

    1. "Know thy enemy."
AP's invariably discuss/rant about casino (idiotic) management decisions, to which I whole heartedly agree. But I perceive/read that these discussions show little insight and understanding underlying such idiotic management decisions. Thus, seek to know the "enemy," and you'll get a clearer understanding of WHY casinos do what they do. THAT DOESN'T MEAN I AGREE WITH THOSE DECISIONS!

    2. "To know your Enemy, you must become your Enemy."
I just finished reading with much concentration, the latest, most renown casino management book, by THE well-known casino management consultant. Full of great insight, numbers, stats, etc. Why did I "waste" my time reading the opposite of AP material? -because I wanted to know in DETAIL what the other side thinks, does, fails/succeeds at.

    3. "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
The AP game of blackjack has "unfolded" more to me after I read that book(s) and incorporated that understanding into (the art of) AP blackjack.

    - For all the $$$ and time we APs spend reading blackjack books, forums, articles and practicing, reading that one casino management book will be a drop-in-the-bucket of time, producing a tidal wave of AP benefits.

AND, also read up on casino surveillance.

There's a GREAT podcast and transcript of an interview with a former long-time vegas surveillance personnel.
