You will need to wait for the ad to complete. Click on the video AFTER the ad completes for a larger video box. Or, go to

I suggest polite but strongly worded letters to MSNBC.

On the other hand, maybe they will continue to treat us like criminals, backroom us, and open themselves up to exorbitant law suits. I love it when a casino loses a large lawsuit almost as much as I loved it when Don Johnson won $15 million armed with nothing but the application of math to a loss rebate deal.

If you look closely at the Biometrica screen, it has a category of "Advantage Player." Interesting that they use this term.

I don't like MSNBC. That being said, I saw nothing wrong with this particular video that we should be protesting. In fact I thought it was quite clear that they were making a distinction between cheaters and advantage players. MSNBC is just reporting what casinos are doing and it's not MSNBC's fault that casinos are going high tech. At least MSNBC doesn't have Keith Biased Olberman on their payroll anymore!

Everything said is true, but it is also true that lumping us together with cheaters does tend to give the wrong idea to casual observers. I like the articles one used to see where someone used clocking the wheel or other skill to beat the casinos at their own game and it was cast in a favorable light and those who did beat the casinos were heralded as heroes and role models, i.e., using one's brain to achieve success even when the "deck was stacked against them," so to speak.

    1st Place $250
    2nd Place $150
    3rd Place $100

Certain ineligibility rules will apply. Pool: APA Handicap Rating of no better than 3 (Aslan need not apply). Golf: USGA Handicap Rating of 18 or better. Bowling: PBA sanctioned average of no more than 101. All participants must wear an eye patch covering their dominant eye. The Rules Committee will be comprised of working casino executives. The qualification guidelines and rules will be ignored with respect to my entry, after all it is my event..Final instructions will be forthcoming after approval of the Rules Committee.

Disclaimer - The Rules have been designed to closely parallel existing Blackjack playing conditions.

Right, Tthree, sounds fair to me. It's better than a 6:5, 50% pen,Dbl 10,11 only, etc. game. Another option would be for you to just send me $250 and save the travel and lodging expenses. Ask any casino exec., that's a deal and a half.

Booker, This is comical but you are not as far off as it may seem. I play in a golf outing every year with 3 of my college buddies and we each pay a $200 entry fee. That includes 18 holes with a cart at the country club, all the food and beer you can consume on the course (food and beverage tents set up at like 6 locations up and down the course), post tourney 5 star dinner & whatever door prizes and gift package they pass out. If we were to ever place 1st, 2nd or 3rd all we would win would be some package that may represent up to 3/4 of the entry fee if that. There is no chance in hell we would ever win because we're not good enough to win nor are we trying to win. We are there for an annual event to meet up and have some fun. I feel like I got my money's worth every year...............I suspect that this is the same reason many gamblers are in the casino and figure they are paying for entertainment. The rest have psychological problems that have led to a destructive compulsion.

I have tried playing games where I have no edge and tried (very hard) to have fun playing. Alas, unsuccessful.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
