    reduced offers in mailers

I've been playing for about 6 months at a spot, mostly $25 min 6D S17 DAS RSA spreading 1-15 with a pretty good act. I recently got another round of mail offers significantly lower than past offers. Does anyone know why this would be? I wong out/generate activity with VP. Is this not worth it? Any advice on getting better offers? Pretty sure I'm still in the red at this spot, so it shouldn't be that they have identified my play. Any ideas?

Most of the player rating systems include a "skill" component. If you got promoted to a "skilled" player it would lower you comp allocation. You can be a skilled player by playing basic strategy. If they tagged you for counting then you will most likely get a BO which may not effect your "offers" short term. I continue to get table game offers for six months after being BO at a local store.

Otherwise, they could have changed their policies regarding comps and it has nothing to do with you.

VP will control your comps much more than table games. In fact, your theo comp value may get split between the VP and table.

All of this is speculation, but if you are objective is "offers" you might want to focus more on VP. Also, be sure to learn basic strategy for that game before you go at it hard.

Not an answer in here but it is some reaction to your post.

That makes sense. Been pretty light on VP and seem to generate no points from blackjack tables. I have BS down for VP, so maybe go with bigger buys there? Thanks for the advice.

    Stealth
    is fully correct.

You have been tagged as a skillful player.

The "tap on the shoulder" looms large.

Any remedy for this or just chill out on this spot for a while?

Probably won't do you much good but you could try calling the player services department to see if they have any answers.

A recent decline in your visits or action might explain it. Mailers are usually based on short term past. Some of the systems for generating mailers can get pretty complicated.

A lot of casinos, especially CET properties, go by what is called ADT, or average daily theoretical.
The 24 hour gaming day varies by casinos and typically begins and ends around 6am.
If you use your card on a new gaming day but only play for a short session, your ADT will go down.
Only use your card if you plan on playing a good amount of time in a 24 hour period.
For example, Boyd casinos have offered $250-500 in a gift card and free slot play as part of a comped stay, but require that players play rated for four hours.
Use the four hour gaming time as a guideline that may vary from casinos.
However, don't play for four straight hours of blackjack.

The other and most likely possibility that goes along with the ADT is that casinos typically send their best offers for the first few months to new players.
They do this as an investment, hoping that the player will give similar or more action on subsequent trips.
If your future trips are lower than what marketing projected, in terms of their theoretical win over you, your offers will be lowered accordingly.

If anyone plans on playing often in a new casino, give a good amount of action on your first day and you will be triggered into marketing's system.
Slot players are valued more than table games players, unless the player is playing big money AND high house edge games, such as roulette, carnival games, craps side bets, etc.

As far as what you can do to get your offers back, you just have to play longer on each trip to raise your ADT, and also other games other than blackjack and VP.
If you're marked as a skilled player in blackjack, putting in the hours there isn't going to help; you'll have to play slots or video poker.
One secret I told in another thread is to play a slot with a 90-95% hold percentage for 10k or more coin in, and your expected loss is 500-1000.
Only do that if you feel that the offers are worth it and if it won't take too many hours of blackjack EV to make up for.
Ask yourself if you are playing for comps and offers, or if you are playing for profit.
The offers are a mixture of room offers, match play, free slot play, free play chips, invitations to events, free gifts to certain card levels, etc.

Could have been the skill level changed (as others have mentioned) or it could have simply been you had a bunch more negative shoes you had to play through and you wound up with a lower than typical average bet. It also has to do with how your play is structured, if you stayed there for four nights and only played one or two of those your Average Daily Worth is lower and thus your mail would suffer. Did you visit and eat dinner and leave without playing? That also reduces your Average Daily Worth. Everything the casino decides to give you has to do with what they think is your E.P. (Earnings Potential). The higher that number is the better your mail is.

I'd also add that the word around on the various message boards (Like VP Free) is that casinos are indeed also cutting back on what they're sending out in offers. So it might be a combination of several things.

A few big days and taking tiime away helps more than a lot of small days, even if it's the same total action.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Are you sure the recent mail offer is your "big offer"? I know lots of places will give out the main "big offer" ($200/week for 4 weeks kind of thing). But they also have smaller, kind of side-offers, like "This weekend only, $150 freeplay!" or "This day only, $100 freeplay" kind of offers. I've been fooled a few times, getting those smaller/side-offers first and thinking my mail has gone to sh*t....then waiting a few days and getting the really good big offers.

Assuming we're talking about your regular mail getting downgraded....as has been said, can come from a number of things individually or a combination. Perhaps the few days leading up to your mailer being printed, you had short sessions and/or small average bet ratings...those aren't good. Or perhaps you recently hit a big win, or several wins, and someone reviewed your play and you're tagged as a possible skilled player....or maybe they decided you've won enough money from them, they aren't going to give you much on your mail, even if you have big action. Or maybe you lost a whole bunch when you initially started playing there which generated huge offers -- offers that are not "normal" for your average bet rating. Maybe casino downgraded their mail as a whole and everyone's mail got cut.

Of course, we don't know all the specifics about your play history, win/loss, bet sizes / ramps / average bet / etc. and it's ultimately up to you to try to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to figure out what's going on. Might be able to talk to other players and see if they got their mail cut. If you're daring, might talk to a suit (semi-complain) that you're getting worse mail......although I'm not sure if talking to a suit is a good course of action. You decide what you think makes sense and is best to do.

Almost certainly a difference in your average bet rating for a recent session, or sessions.

CET has been cutting back on offers in general but usually offers never go up only down. Another thing they have been doing is reducing theoretical loss rates on certain vp machines and possibly bj.

If offers are a big part of your EV talk to a host...this is their job you will get an honest answer and the conversation doesn't look AP at all regular gamblers ask about this sort of thing all the time.
