Oh I just think it would be nice to have video of the game. Last weekend I was playing and the count went ridiculously high to the point where I couldn't believe it and kept questioning if I was making a mistake or something.

Another reason would be for safety reasons or evidence in the case of the casino doing something illegal.

Short answer: I just think it would be cool to have video to watch later on if I wanted to

Yeah those politicians don't want their backroom meetings to have secret audio by a whistleblower to be admissible in court. They write stiff penalties for any audio recordings without the knowledge of all parties.

Don, what is the easy rule for the ible/able suffix. That one is always tripping me up.

    I am not a lawyer.

Most places do not allow the use of a video recording device near the tables, as a game security measure.
Most places do not allow the use of a video display device at the tables, as a game security measure. (Google Glasses usually falls under this.)

Depending on what you're trying and where, the consequences could range on the scale from "Nothing" to "You cannot do that, turn it off" to "You may not play here anymore today" to "You may not play here again" to "You are no longer welcome on the premises" (trespassed) to "We're calling the police and pressing charges".

If cameras aren't permitted in the house rules (the usual case in my neighborhood), assume that you'll be asked to leave. Look for a clause like

Management reserves the right to limit or restrict the use of ALL electronic devices within the casino area including but not limited to: Video recording devices, cameras, camera phones, mobile phones, intelligent glasses, tablets, computers, smartphones etc.

Hmmmm, if it's not illegal according to the law, but against casino policy, can you be arrested? My guess would be no? What could the police do?

They can be a royal pain about it. Some people think this is an opportunity. I don't. If you are using a recording device, do it openly. Don't look like you are trying to hide the fact. Look like a tourist. Tourists always have cameras. They don't backroom every tourist with a camera.

Do the police have the same tribal name as the casino owners?

Do the police otherwise have a preference for enforcing casino policy?

Funny thing is, once the police are actively involved with you, it's easy to commit an arrestable offense.

The latter is because some customers don't want to be photographed gambling.

I'm not aware of a law making cameras illegal. But, be aware that it is illegal in Nevada to pawn dentures or ride a gnu.
May one leave his gnu tied to a column in the self-parking lot, assuming he walks it there and does not ride it?

I'm not Don, but I've had the same trouble. If I can't tell by the "look" of the spelled out word, I just google it. I'm finding that -able turns out to be the correct form in the majority of cases I google, but because that's not something I can depend on, I google it in every case that I'm not sure. English is a crazy language. Frequently, you just have to memorize the correct spelling, grammar rule, or pronunciation, since there is often no rhyme or reason.
