    Stupid Mistake

Recently I was booted for life from a property. Looking back my mistake was clear and easily avoidable. While playing I fell behind early. I was only playing red chips. It made me mad that the cards would not fall my way. So I sat there and fought back. I eventually won my money back and more. However I stayed longer than I should have. The session lasted longer than 3 hours. While I got my money back, the consequences are much greater than the few bucks I would have lost. Live and learn.

This is a very common mistake, Ferris. Don't feel bad. Many of us have made the same mistake. When you are losing, you mistaken think that is cover and buys you some immunity. Fact is just the opposite. Losing big probably indicated there were large bets that you lost. This means you have shown your spread, probably multiple times and then retreated back. You have given up all the information necessary for them to easily pick you off.

When you talk to counters, it is a common theme that many say the majority of backoffs and barrings occurred while they were losing or just after a losing session.

    Hang in there, Ferris.
I had a similar experience recently, although no back-off or ban. I left the shop up several units and felt great about my play and cover. After every session, I do an evaluation and this uncovered that I was spreading too dangerously and my session was much too long.
Although my play as a gambler was terrific and very successful, my overall game as an AP was less than ideal. I may have got away with it this time, but I have to pay more attention to this in the future.
    Best of luck bouncing back.

That's why loss limits can help. It's says you're ok with taking a predetermined loss. Remember that casino will be there again tomorrow.

It can also protect you. Huge, chasing buy-ins are somewhat odd. Ploppies do it, but not commonly.

Yes, It is all one big session. Posting losses look great on your history. Get a nice chunk back and log a loss. Then leave with a big grin saying how glad you are you got some of your money back.
