What's the best way to find out a casinos rules for blackjack?

I'm new to this, so just wanted to find out the best way.

Im guessing just to phone them, but is there a "list" of questions I should ask?

Also if you start asking loads of questions do they get suspicious or is it normal for them to be asked lots of blackjack specific questions?
    Cheers

Yes. You probably should have specified you were seeking UK info.

The rulesets don't tend to vary that much; S17, DOA, DAS, RSA, NS. What can vary are the number of decks - 6 is usual, occasionally you'll find a game with 4, as someone has stated the LCI casinos now use 8 in most places - and of course the penetration. I have been told that as a trade-off, the LCI houses will offer insurance on any player hand where a dealer ace or ten shows (not just on a player's snapper -v- ace), although the H17 rule has been reported in some of their places (look up the impact on the house edge).

If you're a counter you'll want to recce the best 4 and 6 deck games, if not it probably doesn't matter. My experience is that the pen is usually dealer dependent, and where not instructed otherwise the table staff will cut anything from 15% to 40% off the back before loading the cards into the shoe.

I'm in the US, not the UK.

That said, every place I've been to that offers blackjack has the house rules for blackjack posted on a sign near the tables.

That doesn't help for scouting without travel.
May the cards fall in your favor.

most casinos have websites with the rules posted there , but not all maybe / try to search the casino by its name + city name + casino + website , you should get something ...I've called the front desk a few times , sometimes they transfer the call to the pit boss... that's happened to me ...

Most have rules posted at the table. Literally 5 minutes of scouting and you can see rules, pen etc.

Only some parts of Canada, and the info is far from accurate.

Upon entering a casino that you are unfamiliar with, you do not grab the first seat that becomes available.

Game selection is of crucial importance, so spend some time scouting the tables and you'll soon know the rules.
