Cool Any tips on estimating the remaining of decks

Just wanna ask if you guys may know any tips on how to train yourself to estimate remaining decks more accurately, right now it seems to be the only roadblock for me to move forward, also, any good place to buy the casino quality cards for practicing purpose? Any advice is really greatly appreciated, thanks!

Stack up an assortment of decks. see what one looks like then go on to two, etc. Then try 1/2 decks, etc.

I did exactly what bigjer said, but I bougt 6 decks, numbered each on from 1-312 and kept them in order. I checked my estimation by looking at the face of the card where I numbered it to see how close I was.

Also, I'd recommended buying a discard tray. I took mine, placed one deck in it, and made a line only visible on the back side of how tall 1 deck was, did the same for 2-3-4 all the way to 6 decks.

i would then deal hands out simulating players and a dealer, while counting and keeping to BS. When it was time to get a TC, id do my estimation, then check the back of the discard tray to see if I was right.

In many casinos I've been to you can buy cancelled playing cards right at the gift shop.

Do you play heads up? If you aren't using multiple count systems and you are ok with counting the numbers of rounds, then count every 19 rounds of play, and consider it 1 deck played. I wouldn't recommend that, but it's an option.

What I would do is purchase a discard rack, maybe 2 or 3 of them for cheap online and practice at home. Get a random amount of cards after you stack up the # of decks you play (1,2,4,5,6,7,or 8) then take a random amount of cards out of that stack and place them in the discard rack then: 1.) Estimate the remaining cards in the discard rack 2.) verifying exactly how many there are by counting them out 3.)Calculate the TC 4.) make necessary adjustments as to how far you were off/on from there.

    Hope this helps, OC

Also if you ask the PB they'll give you a deck or two of cards. Currently I have over 20 decks from the PBs.

I've asked once or twice at my locals stores, they always say they have to get drilled first.

A deck is usually equal to 5 casino cheques stacked together vertically. It can be a useful aid if you're in a pinch. Since I resolve to two decks my reference point is based upon 10 chips and I then use the appropriate multiplier to arrive at t.c. I use this approach for spanish 21 as well but subtract one chip; i.e., 9 chips.

When I first started I bought 8 decks online then used my iPhone as a reference to how many decks came up to what point on my phone. Just until I got a good handle on just estimating by looking at it.

Good suggestion, but u should adjust per casino. Card and chip thickness vary, and should be accounted for.

You mean 8.5 rounds as u need to account for the dealers cards. As a corollary - as an example 3 players plus dealer = 4x2.7 cards per hand = 10.8 cards per round. Round to 5 rounds per deck - can be adjusted for number of players as well as splits etc.
