    ror and bankroll

i know that the required bankroll for nickels is 5,000, which gives you an ror of .5%. is this figure found by simulating a shoe game with a 1-12 betting spread? what if you play exclusively sd with 1-4 spread? what about dd with 1-8 spread?

    rules: sd-bj pays 3:2, double 10 and 11, no das, h17. dd-double any 2, das, h17

Your top bet should always be the same in terms of dollars (it should always be based on your advantage. The risk of ruin will be less for a bigger spread because your bottom bet is lower and thus your exposure to the flux of the game (and the -EV house advantage) will be less while you are making your waiting bets.

thank you for the reply. why is a bankroll measured in min bets if this is the case? shouldn't there be a different required bankroll for sd red, dd red, and shoes red? since they all have the same minimum bet, but very different top bets? i would just like to know what the actual required bankroll would be for these 3 different games.

All of this is too imprecise for me. Pen makes a big difference in RoR. Rules too. Generic statements like having 100 max bets or whatever is not acceptable to me in an age where the variety of games is huge and computer simulation is easily accessible.
