We are now employing a content delivery network (CDN) to serve content from Blackjacktheforum. This means that the site is partially mirrored on 30 data centers around the globe. This was done to improve performance, availability and security. Most companies do this for performance reasons. I don’t actually expect any noticeable performance improvement as performance is already good. But, I do expect an improvement in our ability to handle malicious attacks, which have been occurring with increasing frequency. NOTE: If you access the site and receive a challenge page, please contact [email protected]. This can occur if a non-blacklisted bot is suspected. You can bypass the challenge by answering one of those annoying CAPTCHA tests.
E-Mail Obfuscation
Most people know the problem of posting e-mail addresses. It is estimated that posting an e-mail will result in 800 SPAMs over the next year. E-mail obfuscation has been implemented on BJTF. If a normal user browses a post, e-mails will appear as links allowing you to click on them to open your e-mail program. If a bot browses a post, the e-mail will be obscured, so it cannot be harvested by a spammer.
As changes were made to the core of VBulletin, and we will be tuning the performance and security over the next week, please notify us quickly of any problems or unusual events.
