Cosmopolitan is great....... Don't try back counting..... But they have pen just as good as the Luxor in there shoe games.

NYNY all 6:5 on the floor with only one 3:2 shoe. Pit got on the phone when I bought in for 500 on a weekday. One shoe and done.
Venetian/Palazzo. I do not understand this place. The floor is all 6:5 BJ 8 deckers now. Talk about fleecing the public. Did they borrow a page from the EE? I would have hoped they had better class.
Monte Carlo is a shell of its old self from what I have heard. Same for Mirage. They should put those Piso mojado signs all over the place so you don't slip and fall from all of the sweat oozing onto the floors.
Ballys, Paris, Flamingo - decent rules on shoes but the only action I think they would allow is confirmed DSMV moron status. I assume same for Harrahs but have never really tried to play BJ there. The poor souls working in HL sure looked lonely.
When I was there this year, I didn't have any issues at Binions in terms of "Quality" shoe games to play. DD was "so-so" and the "first time" offers weren't all that bad. Pretty sure it was Binions that had the "Tony Roma's" inside of it, and they were running a weekday special for Steak and Lobster for 9.99. You just can't beat that offer, even if you have to pay for it out of pocket. Stayed at the Golden Nugget while I was there, and I have to say that's got to be the "better" place to stay downtown. Rooms were great, beds were comfortable, and they have some of the best amenities, not to mention the fact that you can water slide through a shark tank, that was certainly fun. Spent a lot of time unwinding there at the pool after having just about everything comped for my slot and table play there, and I loved the fact that they have "iHome" alarm clocks in each room there, so I could charge my iphone in the charging dock, when I saw those I was just on cloud nine, I thought it was the neatest thing ever. Four Queens, from what I could tell, has the absolute best "first time" offers. Free Ace in BJ, Match play in BJ, slot play, freebies and other goodies, and not to mention that we must have dined at Magnolia's 2 or 3 times "on them" while we were there, and they have a muffaletta there that is to die for, and their salads are awesome, and I don't think words could describe their ranch dressing.
While we were on the strip that week, I checked out some games at The Bellagio and Caesars Palace. Everything looked to be 6:5 shoe games with $15 minimums during the week, so I decided to hustle a few slots while I was there instead.

Tony Roma's is in the Fremont not Binion's. The steak is slightly better than shoe leather and you get about 4 oz (last week).
Glad it's not just me. I was also playing at the $5 table, and hadn't placed a bet above $15, and was up a grand total of about $80 when I got backed off. When I was up about $50 I saw the PB start staring in my direction, but I didn't even consider it would be to back me off. My bad.
I can see why I would have ignored them when I was there, green chipping in Vegas is the last thing I want to do.
I guess I was a little awestruck while I was there, I could have sworn I walked right through Binions doors and off to the right haha. The Steak really wasn't all that bad when I was there in April, was about 9-10 ounces with a 2-3 ounce lobster tail.
Obviously its no "midwest" steak, but its a passable opportunity for "cheap" food.
I for sure played 3:2 H17 rules in Binions though on a Wednesday or a Tuesday.
I've stayed at MGM Grand, Wyndham Grand Desert, Luxor and M Resort. Room wise, I enjoyed all of them (Luxor the least). No issues getting a few extra amenities for little or no cost.
My experience/memory:
1) Excalibur/Luxor/Monte Carlo/NYNY - games not good enough. Ick.
2) Mirage/MGM Grand - mixture of playable/unplayable. $25+ not horrible, but it was day/time/pit dependent. A lot of $10-$15 8D and bad pen, but it's not impossible to find a 6D.
3) Bellagio/Caesars/Venetian/Palazzo - $50-100+ too expensive minimum bets when I checked. Games didn't appear to be anything special
4) Planet Hollywood/Harrah's/Paris/Bally's/Linq - mixture of playable/unplayable. The number of 6/5 games was upsetting; however, 3/2 games can be found with decent pen.
5) Cosmopolitan - Decent games at times, but didn't play long.
6) El Cortez - Fun. Give it a shot, hit/miss.
I got away with some plays I didn't think I'd be able to. I'm sure having my wife was a huge help! She has become an asset as she's grown more comfortable at the tables.

As far as worst casinos in Vegas go, I think any place that is exclusively 6:5 for under $25 should get a nice slap on the face.
These red chip players would have eventually moved up in stakes to continue chasing "the thrill" of gambling, but they're being fleeced out of their money so quickly at lower stakes that they are being turned off from gambling forever.
It's the casino version of slaughtering the cow instead of milking it.
