    Backcounting and N0

If my N0 is lets say 12,000, does 'hands seen' while backcounting count towards the N0 or only 'hands played' count towards N0?

Thanks for any advice you might have!

Is that us your opinion or is it backed by math?!

Im guessing it does count or then it would take forever to reach N0 when backcounting

It's his opinion that is backed by the math . Check out Blackjack Attack 3, it's covered in some detail.

Lots of people have been asking questions . There has a been an increased in the knowledge of the OTHER side. I do not like that. They come here ask a question ,then get a quick question .EASY QUICK FIX TO ID CC, AP ,STer, simple comp hustle,etc... I am talking about the slightly more advanced than counting method.

So you guys are saying that If I go to play a blackjack casino and I stand around all night backcounting shoes and dont get one positive shoe to jump into, that it will still lower my N0 even though I did not play a hand all night!?

Yes. They count toward your N0.

What would be the difference between that and betting your minimum bet all night? Besides that you save money from not betting at a disadvantage?

I believe that is precisely the difference, your EV increases due to skipping known negative rounds, thus lowering your N0.

If you aren't there, you don't have the option to jump in if the count goes positive. Even though you don't get a positive count every shoe, having that option has value. Every hand you watch, you're standing there ready to pounce if the count gets high enough. As said by others above, this is no different from a play all approach where the count stays low, except you save money by not making those negative bets. Your bets are still the same (or similar) when the count is good.
