Opinions of the Martingale Betting System

I would like to know the pros and cons of the Martingale System. Personal ventures with it. Has anyone been profitable with it.

Yes and No. Martingale wins in the short run, but proven to fail in the long run.

But I would argue that there is a subvenient advantage to playing blackjack with the Martingale System. When you get to double down, you can win a lot more money. Would you guys agree?

The Fletcher Formula is much stronger than Martingale. You should study up on it.

I don't agree because when using the Martingale System you won't know if the double down situation is favorable or not. You might have a very big bets out when the EV is negative. With a negative EV your double downs will NOT be as successful as when the deck is rich in tens and Aces. The Martingale System fail to identify the favorable of the decks and that is the main reason why it don't work.

Well you see that's the thing - you have the option to double down; you're not obligated to. It's simply an add benefit. The Martingale forces you to make large bets even when the count is unfavorable; I don't disagree.

And I'm not saying the Martingale System can beat blackjack; I've tried it - it can't.
