    What is a better move...

I was playing a DD game where I was at third base, playing with 3 other players. I was always able to see the bottom card when the dealer picked up the decks from the Shufflers and offer to cut. However, I was only getting to cut 25% or less. I still could see and guess whether a low or high card was being cut out and could adjust the RC.
the table next to it was empty and, if I moved over, atleast for a few decks I could get heads up or play with 1-2 players. However, I felt the advantage was in staying in the game I was in since I could have a more accurate RC and there were advantages.

Now, I am wondering if the advantage was negated by the higher number of players at the table.

Depends on how you figure your advantage. If you cut a big card to any given 1/4 deck segment that adds roughly 2% to the edge in that segment and assuming you have an equal shot with the other players to get that card, the other players don't hurt you. Now if you cut the big card to a specific slot (say the 13th card from the front of the deck) you will potentially have a much bigger edge, BUT, the other players make it much more difficult to steer the card to your betting spot as they add a level of unpredictability in how many cards will be taken and thus the other players hurt you quite a bit.

When you see a small card you're just cutting it out of play and only gaining around 0.25% (more or less depending on the card) and all players at the table benefit equally.

You can try to cut the low to the dealer's downcard, too.

When I see a low card, I cut it out of play and begin the RC at +1.

When I see a high card, I definately cut it into play. There are advanced techniques such as steering which you can PM me for.
