I do not believe it is fun, but rather a dead serious "competition", the adrenalin can get pumping, but not from "fun" but from the danger of facing a win or loss. I would compare it to an MMA fight for the championship, as you step in the ring you are not having "fun", but a dead serious competition that can go either way, sometimes to the point your a- hole will pucker, "fun,? hell no,! but the "Juice is in the risk of facing danger, wanting to win, but knowing even at your best you may get an azz kicking.

I have always found gaming to be an aphrodisiac, wildly so, and I believe it is so because of the chemicals released when you are in the Zone, and applying all the SKILLZ in the Black Jack game, I also think women have a like reaction, especially on slots, as I have had many women slot players, come on to me when I am playing VP or a hot progressive slot.

I am glad you are filled with enthusiam Surfer, youth is a great thing, but just don't brag or post of your big wins at a certain casino, that is not good for anybody, not you, not us, so think about it.

    Best,
    O

Seeing someone playing with great skill at BJ table can be impressive, but slots? (Maybe VP)
i can't imagine looking at a person and thinking, "look how he's playing that machine!"
It has to be just your looks Ouchez. If a guy is overly friendly to me at casino, I
    immediately clutch my purse.

surfer, I do have fun sometimes but getting into the mindset of winning money with not such
a big bankroll can be stressful to me.
The more I play, the more it seems like work and more nervous I get because I've experienced
    big losses. (Big to me)

    I'm glad you're having fun.
i play to win so I can have fun with loved ones doing other things.
i have a long way to go to make trade off of time away from family worth it.

    Lol. I'm suspicious by nature.

    Agreed.
I've decided not to set foot in a casino until I become proficient with a
betting strategy that satisfies my low risk tolerance and acceptable win rate.

It is fun to me except on a day when you can't win a hand if your life depended on it. That is not fun .....that is disgusting.

Probably would easier to accomplish with a larger bankroll than you have now.

If you can play the LS game as an AP it can go a long way in preserving bank-roll. Maybe it is not available in your area?

    yes.
I've grown my BR quite a bit in last couple of months. I think I experienced positive variance
and felt crushed when I lost money on my last trip. I just feel stressed with my money going
up and down so much during a session. I now want to bet in a way that doesn't make me feel like
I'm on an extreme roller coaster even though that's what helped me grow my BR quickly.
    Thanks Ouchez

Short trips are usually enjoyable but a solo trip for several days or more can wear on you if it isn't going great. As enjoyable as it can be, it is still work. After enough time that work aspect will be more of what you feel than the enjoyment aspect. Perhaps I just play too much when I hit the casinos. I guess taking some time each day to enjoy the area you are in might help make everything more enjoyable after all those hours of grinding.

In my 11th year of playing blackjack almost everyday (at least 6 days a week barring health issues), I am past the 'fun' point. I don't wake up in the morning and say "Oh wow, I am going to play blackjack today". It is a job for me. But I still try to enjoy myself along the way. I try to see the humor in all the little things that might otherwise annoy me and laugh at (sometimes inside) all the oddities of people, both at my table and in the casino atmosphere altogether. It makes life more enjoyable. I have a playing partner who handles some of the things like cashing out and organizing our money and chip inventory, so I am free to just walk in and play, without some of the small annoying stuff.

About the only thing I still struggle with that is extended periods of losing. I am good with losing days (even big losing days) and even weeks, but when losing periods stretch into months (plural), the enjoyment of my career choice, tends to evaporate for a time. That's when it really feels like a job.
