Gotta hand it to the casinos that know how to generate big profits. Offer deep pen with great rules and keep the tables packed. The crowded conditions discourage AP play particularly on the most vulnerable games. It doesn't matter how many tables they open they will be kept packed and the hold will be huge. Other casinos have trouble getting players to show up for their crappy games and they are all low betting slow playing ploppies so combine that with the hands lost to the crappy pen and the hands per hour is pathetic. The average bet per player is horrible. They struggle to keep from going bankrupt. They waste all kinds of money protecting games that AP's don't want to play rather than offer great games that draw everyone and have AP's deciding aren't worth the crowding.

Quite a rosy scenario for the casinos.
Offer crappy games and APs will avoid. Offer great games and APs will avoid.

    A win win!

I think the secret is not in the deep pen and good games that you mentioned. Only a small sect of all gamblers really consider this. The secret to attracting gamblers always comes back to customer service and creating a fun and pleasant environment.

That may be true but the places that are really packing in ridiculously large casino complexes not just a big casino offer the great games with great pen. The biggest I know of will even reserve heads up tables for high rollers once they take a seat but they will hawk you for a while. Some get bounced but the good ones still stay under the radar. They are always very careful not to backoff someone unless they are certain. That takes a decent sample of your play. The high roller room has dozens of BJ tables. Many are playing a reserved table heads up. Then you move out to the casino floor where all the games are packed pretty much 24 hours a day. Some of those ploppies on the floor might play anything but those high rollers won't. They are dropping millions there because its the best game around.

If you plan on visiting, then take a bit of time to read the http://discountgambling.net/ writeup about the unusual way they deal MS Stud.
This is 100% accurate. I milked that place once a week for 6 months....then the back off came on an uncrowded daytime at the HL room. They were VERY professional about it...they comped me lunch, and....got to meet Max Rubin In my opinion, one of the best casinos I've ever played at. Too bad i'm hosed there!

    Casinos cheating at Black Jack

After the first shoe I could tell something was amiss. After the second, being a counter, I told my fiance to get up from the table. The next 3 hours I wanted to make absolutely sure what I saw wasn't a fluke. The next shoe with one deck left had a running count of plus 26! All that came next were neutral cards and a few 2s 3s and aces. After the first two hours we asked a pit boss if we could speak to a manager. A young man came down and without letting him know we knew asked one simple question. On the next shoe since its a hand shuffled deck would you mind turning the cards all face up so we can see them? Of course he refused. So over the course of the next hour I managed to get several pics thank goodness of the entire table 6 hands in play with one lone Jack as the face card as just one example! The count after the entire shoe each and every time had a true count of plus 20 or more. I do have proof and witnesses to this and I need advice on what steps to take now. We did not loose thank goodness but a couple hundred before I caught it. But the other poor souls never had a chance. Any thoughts?
Ive been playing at The Horseshoe casino in Southern Indiana for years and now that Caesars and Eldorado have joined forces and purchased 4 casinos in Indiana I have seen similar cases. They have switched to a single box of cards holding all 8 decks that are pre-shuffled.When they first went to this box I asked why.

They never did show the cards face up like they did when the decks came out of individual boxes. Also last Saturday when the count became positive they pulled a preferential shuffle on me. TWICE!!!I was the only player at the table. The only place I have ever seen this was at the Eldorado in Reno.Im curious if anyone else has been experiencing this as well.

It’s policy now to consider any discussion on casino cheating as voodoo and threads are moved, I believe.

There's a difference between discussing likely cheating (such as cruise ships where just about every shoe ends in a high positive count) and claiming machine shuffles are rigged because you lose.

Correct. There is no question some cheating occurs. There is also no question that some folk think whenever they lose, "they wuz cheated".

Yeah, people accused me of driving poorly when actually Volkswagen had rigged their cars, called me a conspiracy theorist when I questioned out governments claim of WMD’s in Iraq......

It may not be likely in Las Vegas but it’s happening in some states....
