    Dealer Errors

    What's up you crazy bastards?

I've only played a few locations, and my home state( I recently moved back) now has blackjack and, well, I've noticed quite a few dealer errors. Far more than anyplace else. Most of the mistakes I've witnessed have been in favor of the player...about 70%. Most between 25 and 100 dollar mistakes. The most insane one was a three hundred dollar double down (six hundred total) that was paid on a loss...A 1200 dollar mistake. It made me think that I may be missing out by not following error-prone dealers around and paying attention.

Does anyone notice/do this at newer casinos?

The best thing to do against this type of dealers is make crazy bets with amounts that wont be easy to calculate payouts.
Bet $287 and try your best not to laugh when you get dealt a blackjack.

It happens. Dealers get tried, aren't paying attention, or add up their hands incorrectly. I've seen it happen at all over; both new and well established casinos, new dealers, and experienced ones. A team mate of mine played a game the other day in which the dealer miss paid several hands because he actually didn't understand the game at all. That kind of negligence makes a game extremely positive.

It's also a good indicator whether or not you're being watched.

Would you really go running to that game to exploit the game and dealer mistakes, Ouchez? I don't believe you would. maybe I just want to believe that you wouldn't.

(the remaining comments and thoughts are not directed at Ouchez or anyone in particular) It never ceases to amaze me when one of these threads on this topic turns up. My question is this (to all). If you went into a 7-11 and the clerk gave you change for a $20, when you paid with a $5, would you walk away and keep the money? And if so, lets take it a step further...would you return to that store several more times in the next hour hoping for the same scenario?

I mean if you feel this is ok, well that's you I guess. It's not the way I was brought up. And our society also says it is wrong. There have been plenty of cases of banks accidentally putting funds in the wrong persons account and the ruling is always the same. The beneficiary of the mistake must give the money back. It is actually illegal, if they know the money is not theirs. And the 7-11 scenario as well as dealer mistake are the exact same principal, just smaller scale.

Now here's the part that really amazes me. There are plenty of good and decent people that would not keep the money from the 7-11 clerk, or would not keep money that they saw an older woman accidentally drop on the floor, but they will keep some sort of error by a blackjack dealer. It's like all sense of right and wrong goes out the window, when you enter a casino. Yes, we are there doing battle with the casino. And I personally can't stand the casino industry and some of their predatory practices. But, that doesn't give me the right to steal from them. And it is not going to make me forget about what I know is right and wrong. I don't check my morals at the casino entrance. I am there to beat the casino, but personally, I want to win fair and square.

Despite my previous post, Im with you on this one KJ.
I remember stating my view on this matter some time ago when this discussion came up.
Not once in my life have I accepted money originated by a dealers mistake.

Now, I dont judge those who do.
In fact, I think that many players sometimes lose money due to dealers mistakes and dont realize it, so maybe in the long run it all evens out.
