Hi online friends,
[a little background: beginning card counter, no shuffle tracking skills or ace location. I am at the stage where I go to casinos simply to learn and improve my play in accordance to Basic Strategy, proper bet spread, indices, insurance, camo, etc. Game is single deck with decent rules.]
On Casino trip #2, a person to the right of me noticed that I was a beginner because of the lack of knowledge on game customs (scratch to hit, do not hold cards with both hands, etc.).
He advised me to increase my bet at the beginning of a shuffle because it is mathematically in your favor to win on the first hand of a shuffle. I don't think he was employing any tracking or ace locating techniques.
Can anyone give light on this "advice" ? Of course as a beginner with an open mind, I am willing to follow through on unorthodox plays if they work. I've ran naked in my hotel room and did two high jumps in accordance to some advice, guaranteeing it would work!! Just kidding, I didn't do that. Well maybe.. Anyways what I am trying to say is that I am always willing to learn.
Thanks for the help!
