    Casino Robbery

One of my stores was robbed last night. Someone wearing a mask stole a drop box full of cash, ran outside where his partner was waiting, and they sped off. The guy driving was caught, and the other guy jumped out of the car at some point and ran away, still at large.

But I'm here to ask if this presents any AP opportunities... Maybe a greater chance of dealer error? Surveillance distracted? I'm not sure and would like to be enlightened if there's any way I should proceed differently.

Expect a greater amount of surveillance going on in the short term with people looking for weaknesses in security and flaws in procedures. Unless the dealers were somehow involved in the theft expect them to behave like normal. I'd avoid the store for a couple weeks or only make small red chip action.

I didn't see this in the media.

I didn't know it was such a small amount. I feel like you could rob a grocery store register for more cash than that.

    Note
: Unlike in many states, Nevada casino security goons carry high caliber side arms.

You think surveillance will be watching out for AP's more so than before because of a robbery? That's probably one of the last things they'll be watching out for, IMO at least.

It's not so much that they'll be watching out for AP's more it's that they'll be more likely to have people looking over tapes and making sure all the guidelines are followed. I don't think there is a serious risk for a counter because of this, but why risk it if you don't have to.

That was a crazy stunt! Highway robbery Mad Max style. Your opportunity as an AP exists regardless of the actions of others. I'd expect them to beef up security, but then again maybe not because the house bought Insurance.

Played there last night/today. I didn't notice any difference. In fact, a pit boss and I were joking about it. He said the money was insured and all they did was notify Utah police that the getaway car was on its way.. Didn't even bother to stop the perp on the way out.
