    Best youtube blackjack comment

"Your odds of hitting a blackjack are actually pretty good, but the timing is everything."

Just may use this as a tagline.

I sense you are posting this as something stupid or funny, when it actually is a VERY accurate and precise observation.

Isn't this why Aces and tens are negative numbers?

Not necessarily stupid just humorous in light of the fact that many non-counters play by feel. But I'm not sure I'd agree that 1 in 21 is good odds.

In the video the player received a BJ off the top of a freshly shuffled shoe with an all or nothing bet of $2500. Nice win for the guy, he won the right to make the bet or take $1000 cash.

I didnt say this guys reasons for saying this were the right ones.

and if your timing is good, the odds of being dealt a blackjack are a lot higher than 1 in 21. Thats exactly what makes the comment a very accurate one. Thats a line that could come out the mouth of any real pro.

    No bjarg, you are mistaken.

One in twenty one is odds of 20 to 1.

The odds of hitting a BJ on the first hand is approx. 21-1.

It will seldom improve to better than 19-1, or drop below 24-1.

    Is that so my friend?

Come seat with me at a table at one of the many casinos I play at that use a 1 pass r&r shuffle with 1 or 2 riffles and no striping.

Ill tell you when the timing is right and well see if your numbers are correct.

they are negative numbers because they negatively affect your advantage when they are removed from play, just as small cards positively affect your advantage when they are removed from play.

    I know he does.
I was making my point as to why I think that phrase is a valid one, not discussing numbers or probabilities.

If by "timing" you mean when the count is high you are correct but I don't think that's what the person meant. If a pro said it, it would go something like your odds are good but your ace side count is everything.

He is talking about counting smaller numbers of cards and betting when a rich packet of these smaller numbers of cards comes out on the next shoe.
