I just ran across this one today:

Contrariwise, continued Tweedledee, if it was so, it might be: and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.

He is trying to put him in the shoes of the waiter and try speaking a new language, because it's obviously very difficult.

The following line by the genius Leonard Cohen for me is the greatest line ever written about gambling in general:

" He was looking for the card so high and wild he'd never need to deal another "

    RIP Leonard

I just read a story about a Norm Macdonald, a stand up comedian who I didn't know about, and then watched his act on YouTube and this guy is really hilarious.
anyway, this is my favorite joke from him. on an ESPN comedy show he congratulated former Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson by saying:

"Congratulations man. That is something nobody can ever take away from you unless you kill your wife and a waiter"
That’s a good one. In the updated version, he’d need to add “unless you also take improper things (like houses and money for parents) from agents”, since Reggie Bush also has his taken away. The updated version wouldn’t be quite as funny.

    To continue the football topic:

"Being in politics is like being a football coach. You have to be smart enough to understand the game and dumb enough to think it’s important."

Without reading thru 61 pages of quotes, apologies if this one has already been used.
