    Free Bet Blackjack

I'm down in Vegas and came across a game called free bet BJ at the Golden Nugget. Is this a good game? It looks like it...

This should always be the first place you look: http://wizardofodds.com/games/free-bet-blackjack/
"One of these days in your travels, you are going to come across a guy with a nice brand new deck of cards, and this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the Jack of Spades jump out of the deck and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not take this bet, for if you do, as sure as you are standing there, you are going to end up with an ear full of cider."

I don't know that there's much more to look into, as the game is patented by Shufflemaster you're unlikely to find it dealt out of anything but a CSM.

The game is licensed to Shuffle Master (SHFL / Ballys) and The Golden Nugget do not use CSM's. I think The Venetian and Palazzo may also be hand shuffled as well.

One day, push when dealre got to 22 will be a standard rule for all regular Blackjack, to increase house edge. It will become a reality sooner than people anticipate. Just like 6 to 5 payout for Blackjack, ploppies don't understand the math behind them, so most of them will still play. If APs give up playing because of the new push 22 rule, it would be even better for casinos.

You can count this game, my guess is that it's quite a bit more vulnerable than regular BJ but not too much so and crowds/poor pen/inability of casinos to take big action would make it not worth your time to learn.

The main thing with the current 'Push 22' games is that the overall house edge is not greatly increased as the added player-favorable rules give back most of the value.

Free Bet, Switch, Power and Burn 20 all use the 'Push 22' rule but all of these variants have a house edge much lower than 6/5 Blackjack.

So now we are debating which is better: push 22 or 6:5 BJs? Sad day. Both are crap.

Also I believe all these games are filled with ploppies. But if you can get your proper spread with less heat maybe worth a look.

Ugh, i hope not. Even the ploppies might stop playing if a dealer 22 is a push.
