california blackjack how does it compare to ap play

in California and other states there is bj where one can be the bank and bank the game.
typically 8 decks, split once, ls, no das, 6 to 5 on bj, and you pay $1 per h and as fee, the
    rules are against the player.
you can bank twice per cycle around the table.
banker pays $2 per hand fee.
banker can come come with corporation.
banker can play against corporation when no one else at table.
8 deck with csm or shuffle at 4 decks.

any opinions on whether this game is good to bank.
    standard deviation, variance, swings.
    br needed to bank.
    ror
    heat

    is this worth doing?

As the Banker is paying a fee, it will depend on the average wager amount.

If that is high enough then banking this game is a "goldmine" for anyone

    with a sufficient bank — which will need to be VERY substantial indeed;

making this a fine opportunity for a syndicate with sufficiently deep pockets.

There are many games that are good to bank. You will find that if you start to give the Corp any serious competition they will have you thrown out. This is a game where social skills are a huge asset because you can also talk to your neighbor on either side of you and partner bank with them when it is their turn and get 6 hands per round.

What if the average wager amount is $100 head to head against corporation with a $6 buy bet? That is, banker can request corporation to buy in at $6 for every $100 wager. I read an article stating that the bank has a 1.3 percent theoretical advantage for this type of game. The cost to bank is $8, $6 for buy bet and $2 to be the bank.

I don't have experience banking but when I was in CA they said you need 250k to bank. I would imagine this bankroll could be leveraged in a much more profitable way.

Jentho, they lied to you. There is no law that says you need 250k to bank. Any player is allowed to bank when it is his turn. Now the casino may try to discourage you, and may bar you, but that 250k number they are just pulling out of their ass.

the figures you give here indicate to me that banking is a losing proposition.
if I understand you correctly, you are paying $8 in order to win 1.3% of $100 or $1.30 for a net loss of $6.30 every time
you do this. it is simple arithmetic that you as bank will lose clearly.
the 1.3% sounds right since bj pays 6 to 5. I would stay away from banking this game according to your figures.

is there anywhere in the world outside of cali that has these freak banking rules? Always seemed to me they came up with their gaming laws out of thin air.

Common sense should tell you you will not get an answer. His point is that we shouldn't be discussing this in an open forum. A point which went right over your head. if you understood his point you wouldn't make the above post.

Why not? Neither of you have added any real value to this thread. To say anything else is just BS.
    What are you worry about?
If you just keep thinking in the scarcity mentality instead of abundance, then you might as well stay out of the discussion in the first place.
Also, don't assume you have more "info" than others in the discussion because you haven't reveal any yet.
