    Payout errors

I have to admit, I normally accept any dealer payout errors that are in my favor

A recent example...I placed my stack of pink chips as my $25 bet and asked the nice looking dealer for all green and to my surprise got two stacks of $50 in green chips back for my bet. I'm sure it wasn't done on purpose as she took her time counting out my pink chips.

Anyhow, was curious to hear some stories for any table games preferably outside of the norm..

saw a guy buy in for 500 in 20's at 100 dollar game and the dealer gave him 2500 in chips since he or she was so used to handling nothing but 100 dollar bills because it was a 100 dollar game.. floor verified it.. 10 min later phone rings and survalliance catches it.... that was the best I saw all year but it got caught and guy had to pay back...

I'm pathetically honest. I tell the dealer when I've had a misspay.

Oh, many players do as bjarg and BigJer do. I'm somewhere in between. I'm certainly not one to judge but some would consider your example as shot taking, mrcharlie.

    First one I ever saw...

Many, many years ago, I was playing heads-up on a nickel table at a remote casino. A man walked up to the table, plunked down a $20 and a $10, and asked the dealer for a green and two reds... and she GAVE IT TO HIM!

Naturally, he busted out (including his extra nickel) in just a few hands, but to this day I can recall the amazed expression on my face that such a simple gambit would work.

I alone am responsible for catching errors in the house's favor and correcting them. The casino has at least 3 people and the benefit of video tape to catch errors in my favor. I figure I miss more errors against me than they miss that are for me. In the vast majority of errors in my favor, I don't say a word. Exceptions are generally when I expect them to catch it anyway and I can gain brownie points by pointing out the error myself.

Awhile ago, I was overpayed by $1,000.

An hour later I was asked for it back

and I payed it back without hesitation.

Not to seem argumentative, but you find it okay to take $1000 that does not rightly belong to you, which is in effect stealing, not offering to give it back, only doing so when confronted. Yet team play, deemed totally legal, you find unethical. Hmmm...interesting.

For the record I am have no problem taking mispays, and with team play. I for one find it amusing that any AP playing undercover and basically trying to lie to the casino about the actions in the manner in which they are playing, to find themselves totally ethical. Lying in any form is unethical no matter who you do it to. We have all compromised ourselves to one degree or another once we take on the role of AP in the casino, and I for one have not one shred of guilt for it.

99 percent of people would probably not say anything about being overpayed by a grand. It's probably safe to say a good portion of them would be heading for the cashier within 5 minutes.
