    Did i deal correct?

i am new to blackkack and i'm teaching myself so i decided to play the part of the dealer and player so here's exactly what happened in the hand...

    + i got dealt 2 cards (3 and 5)

+ the dealer got dealt 1 card (3)

+ i know that i have to double down on this hand because of what i learnt on the basic stratergy card so i doubled down which from what i understand means i only get to draw 1 card so i drawn 1 card and that card was an A so that totals either 9 or 19 and i chose to total 19.

+ the dealer then drawn 1 card 3

    + then another 4

    + then another 8

did i deal this hand correct?

Doubling down 8v3 (player 8, dealer 3) is not proper basic strategy.

    Go here: http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php

Scroll down. To the bottom left, there's an area to choose the game/rules you play (decks, rules such as if dealer hits or stays on soft 17, if you can double after split, surrender, etc.). Click on "get strategy" and memorize that table.

Most casinos deal two cards to the dealer, one up and one down. From what you posted, it looks like you only gave the dealer a single card. If "US Peak" is part of the rules, that means that the dealer looks to see if there is an Ace as the bottom card if he has a ten up, and also checks for a ten as the bottom card if he has an Ace up.

I'm not sure what you're asking about if you dealt properly.

Dealer had a 3, then got a 3 card (totaling 6). Got another 4 card, totaling 10. He drew another 8 card and totaled 18, at which point he would stop drawing cards because he has a hard 17 or higher.

I am not sure which BS card you are looking at but you shouldn't double 8 vs 3. If you are waiting to give the dealer a second card after the players take hits then that is "No Hole Card" game which is mostly outside of the US. In the US all hands will take two cards then the players make their decisions then the dealer plays his hand.

I'd like to know where you got this Basic Strategy card that tells you to double an 8 against a 3. If your card actually says that, then throw it away and don't ever use it again.

I think I made an error in my post, I got 2 cards that totaled 9.

Actually, before throwing it away, let us know where you got it, and maybe what other plays it has. It's always nice to have a laugh.
