A part of being successful as an AP is "longevity". You have to look and act harmless; basically, not a "threat" to the casino's profits.

You CANNOT look and act smart!! Yet if you act stupidly (e.g. counting A7 with your fingers), you might arouse more suspicion, and will slow down the game.

How does one look and act harmless, or just stupid enough?

This. Some can pull off an act, most can't and may actually bring attention to themselves. Whenever you speak, ask yourself what purpose does it serve for me to be opening my mouth here? Admittedly I make mistakes in that regard as I believe most of us do, but it is helpful to be cognizant of the purpose of your words around casino employees and fellow patrons.

I tip from time to time, I dress the complete opposite of what I would normally dress but nothing that would scream attention. When I move my money, I try to do it with a progressive theme, and I used a Miller Lite beer bottle with water in it to make it look like I'm drinking. (only twice) I normally don't talk to anyone, and I speak with an accent (sometimes poorly) when someone talks to me. People tend to leave me alone because of that. *Just another Tourist * is how I try to play it.

I like to talk to the cards when playing, especially when I'm on a bit of a hot streak. That normally gets the other players at the table going a bit. If I put a bigger bet out there I'll follow it up with "now we're drinking and gambling". Something like that. Making it look like hunches are how I'm betting. Hey now!

Just sit and moan a bit when you lose a bet and drop frequent minuscule tokes for the dealers.
