Steve: How do I figure the added value of an index play?

    Don,

Would you mind giving the formula or explaining how one figures the added ev for making an index play versus not doing so, for example, if I double A9 v 5 or 6 when the index calls for it what is the extra ev in making the play?

In the example above, let's assume hi-lo traditional count with a $10k bankroll as you did for the tables in your book.

Second question, does the added ev remain the same if a double deck game is played? Also does it remain the same if using AOII versus hi lo on the dd game? If not, what are the modifications which need to be made in the formula?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Steve

The entire process is meticulously documented in the Illustrious 18 chapter of BJA3. Much too much to post here.

If you have the book, then you have the methodology in the chapter.

No, not exactly. Besides, there is no one added value. It changes with your bet spread, rules, etc.

Again, no, but the differences are minor.

Different count, different inputs into the formulas used.

    Reread Chapter 5. Slowly!! :-)

Thanks Don. Yes I do have the 3rd edition of your book and will study Chapter 5.

    Thanks again.
